Run starfall and uninstall all hacks
then you can start with the guide from the beginning

Just want to say if anyone comes across the post, I uninstalled all the starfall hacks, and followed from Step 1 in this guide, and now Im running on 4.2U softmodded. So it works.

It only has that high version number because the actual IOS has that version number as well.
But it is the v14 cIOS

Hi Everyone, I was updating from a hacked 4.0 to 4.2 This guide works very well, except I got a bit confused using Dop-IOS and am not sure if I followed the steps correctly. Now, I can not install the latest cIOS. I get an error ret = -2011. I am also not able to install cIOS38 rev14 and get a -1 error. I have a feeling it has something to do with the Dop-IOS (Trucha Bug) but I could be wrong. ANY help would be much appreciated!

I assume its to make use of the usb webcam that come with the game.

What are the benefits of installing the new cIOS38rev16?

I normally use Usb loading, and I can do it fine with rev14, but later today I'm gonna mod my cousin's Wii, he's gonna play with discs backups, so should I mod his with rev14 for Discs, and update mine with rev16? (mine has the new D3-2 chipset)

Yeah, rev16 isn't much of a difference to v15, except it had a fix for NSMB

yeah rev14 for disc loading as well, but it doesnt support dual layer loading.
you would have to use IOS222 to play it

Ah so thats why my nsmb crashes with 'An error has occurd, please eject blah blah blah' every few mins. I need to use rev 16 ?

Restoring the Trucha Bug
Run DOP-IOS MOD v10
Go down to select Install an IOS that accepts fakesigning.
Press B to choose no IOS reload.
Choose Downgrade IOS15.
Choose load IOS from SD.
Run Trucha Bug Restorer

Info copied from Complete Softmodding Guide TBR steps for dop-ios

2. Run DOP-IOS MOD. Press A to continue to the next screen. Go down once to select "Install an IOS that accepts fakesigning". Press A to continue.

2a) You will go to the TBR menu.

* Leave the option at IOS36 and press B (no IOS reload).
* In the next menu, choose Downgrade IOS15.
* It will ask where to load the IOS from, choose Download IOS from NUS.

2b) Back in the TBR menu, change the IOS to IOS15 and press A (NOT B).

* Now go in the IOS36 menu.
* Leave the top option to 36 and change all other things to yes.
* Once you did this, go to Install patched IOS and press A.
* It will again ask where to load the IOS from, so say Download IOS from NUS.

2c) Once thats done as well, go back to the TBR menu and choose IOS36 (if its not set to that).

* Press A to go to the next screen.
* This time, choose Restore IOS15.
* If it asks you where to load the IOS from, you should know what to do by now.

I installed cIOS249-v16 as it has a fix for NSMB but of course it didnt make a blind bit of difference as it still crashes every 2 mins. When I try to uninstall to go back to v14 it gives me errors...

Deleting Tickets... ERROR! (ret = -1017)

Anyone know how to remove this ?
