If it's possible, a way to dump BCA data from the disc would be preferable to me as well. I'm sure I'm not the only one who doesn't care in the least about 'scene releases' since I dump everything from my own discs. Even if it's not, if it displays it and we can copy it down it's not that much of an inconvenience I guess (even if uLoader must be used). I'm just glad you support this kind of thing now, it seems like a better solution than directly patching NSMBWii, patching with a hex editor, or adding such patches for all games using this new protection (though there don't seem to be many yet).
Make sure you post all the data for the rest of us less fortunate (not to mention moralistic) people!

Don't forget your previous statement of "even backing up games you own is still piracy" (paraphrased).

I thought I already told you this. I said 'downloading' games you own is still piracy as you are willingly using something that someone else is pirating. Ripping games from a disc you own is not downloading and is not piracy.

Please, let's leave it at that and not derail the thread again. At least you finally answered my question about how you misunderstood my original statement, though.

To those interested in theme downloads, I'm considering adding it to the Configurator app on the PC. Is this wanted?

Thanks for the help guys. Just curious, but how come the USB Hard Drive needs to be connected to the USB port on the right instead of left? Is it normal for it to take 10 minutes to install each game from disc?
The additional stuff to make it work with USB drives also tends to kill some of the other features, making peripherals useless. Thus, only one of the ports is patched. And yes, 10 minutes is normal for bigger games (>3GB). The time it takes to dump is dependent on the size of the game.

10 minutes for 3 GB? my large games take the better part of an hour!

Your coming from a retail disk right? Not from a backup that you had legally made previously?

Retail disks to my 7200 rpm hard drive never take longer then 10 minutes.

When the wii tries to read a backup, it is a whole lot slower, and it will take forever to dump.

That is a larger disk and its dual layer... maybe your wii has issues reading dual layer dvd's?

are you dumping to wbfs or fat? on sd or usb? if usb is it a powered 7200 rpm drive with a decent cache (etc) or one of the 5400 rpm drives that steals their power from the wii?

i dumped ssbb in way less time then that.

Most recent one I recall is Metroid Prime Trilogy taking about an hour and a half, retail disk mind you yes

dumping to fat right now but wbfs was just as bad. its a 16GB kingston flash drive, pretty zippy normally but possibly not as good as having a real drive. It could also just suck at reading discs seeing as its a launch wii

IIRC I usually get transfer speeds around 4MB/s. Haven't dumped games recently though.

how did you figure that out? just did the math on a dump and converted it into a speed?

that seems like a decent number... thats roughly a gig every 4 minutes.

Just did the math based on overall time.
8GB DL games took me 30-45 minutes on average.

Well, what do 'pirates' do? They infringe copyrights. Considering making backups is viewed by the laws in your country (assuming you haven't faked your country) as infringing copyrights, you too are a 'pirate' (you even appended this to your 'downloading' qualification with a statement along the lines of 'downloading games you own is still piracy...the only way it isn't is if you make your own backups, depending on your country', so I didn't misunderstand anything in your post; you did). You're just a 'moral' pirate, allegedly, not that that would make a difference in a court of law.

Also, let's not forget about those poor folks with a crap internet connection who do the 'rent-to-own' method (with a few probably fraudulently taking the moral high ground anyways - narcissists most likely) who need easy access to the install game option too!

Anyways, I just like to yank your chain almost as much as you like to blow your own morally superior horn.

Oh, and let's not do the whole 'derail', 'bloat', etc. lark. The thread has over 5,800 posts...most of them people asking the same damn questions over and over again. I don't think a few posts like these contribute too much, if anything to that, especially considering the OP decided to throw in his 2 cents as well.

p.s. It's good to see you're still here and that the mention of leaving was just more of your posturing.

Neither are your posts arguing about this. Start a new debate thread if you want to continue this. Seriously. Can you please get over it already? Just agree to disagree and end it.

Tell that to oggzee too then, or STFU with your biased, sycophantic suggestions. Seriously.

Back to the topic, it appears the 'scene' has decided to nuke new releases without BCA data. So, looks like my wish has come true.

He's stopped. You brought it back with the following:

There's nothing sycophantic (great SAT word by the way. lol) about my suggestions. I'm just straight up annoyed that, after over a week, you're still bringing this up.

Oh, so I have to have his, or your, permission to say something about piracy, anytime he looks down his nose and mentions it? FOAD.

And BTW, hypocrite, how many fucking threads did you decide to spam with your "HEY GO VOTE IN MY POLL!!1!" posts? Was that really fucking necessary (not to mention is the poll even necessary, other than to serve to inflate a few egos perhaps)? Did they contribute anything to the threads? No, they didn't, but that certainly didn't stop you from doing it and I won't waste my time telling you not to either, as that's your prerogative. I'll leave the requesting that you stop bit up to the OP's, and perhaps you and others should do the same. Wannabe Mini-Mods mean nothing to me.

And how old is this fucking thread? And you're still bringing up questions that have been asked and answered many times over? Again, FOAD.

Sigh, I simply can't get any game to run. So far I have tried several New Super Mario Bros. Wii releases (both PAL and NTSC) and Guitar Hero Greatest Hits (the PAL version of what's known as Smash Hits for NTSC).
I have no idea why, but every time I want to load them it just does nothing after this message stating the game is loading, following the three dots and then nothing.
I mean, how long do I have to wait? Should it load immediately? I am using a 16GB SDHC card formatted in FAT32. Should I try creating a WBFS partition on the card as second partition? Or should I try it on a real hard disk that is formatted in either FAT32 or WBFS? What about the settings? I have everything installed that the loader requires - at least I guess so: IOS 222/223, 249 too, of course. This infamous IOS36-64-v1042 and all the other files that were included in the 4.2 upgrade pack that goes with the tutorial made by xzxero. So I don't think there is anything missing or is there?
I really have no clue what's wrong and I have seriously no idea what settings to use with each game. I tried all possibilities for NSMBWii but had no success. That is so frustrating. Why is this and how to solve it? Seriously, I haven't even come as close to play with other USB loaders, because they all lack support for FAT partitions so that Configurable USB Loader is my favorite despite of the problems I have, but I am also optimistic they can be solved rather easily, but obviously not easy enough for me to see how!
So all I can say is that any help would be greatly appreciated. BTW, is there a link that shows what settings I have to use with what game or do I always have to find out for myself fiddling around?
