. . . . . . So why use profiles?
because some times you feel like a nut, some times you dont?

seriously? because maybe you want to segment your different games by type, or even by user, or even by color or texture...its all up to you.

QUOTE(dlf @ Nov 16 2009, 05:37 PM) And how could I add or switch games to a profile?
you would read the post thats right before yours, for starters.

Bit of an issue here with Naruto Shippuden Clash of Ninja Revolution 3. When I use FAT32 the music skips yet with the same drive formatted in WBFS it's fine. Just curious if this is a known issue or not or if it's just me. If any needs specifics on what I'm using I can give them.
If you have a bit of spare time, I have a really weird suggestion you could try, although I doubt it would work. Defrag the drive.

That was one of the first things I tried. Anyway it's not really a big deal to me although it may very partially determine how I will have my new larger seagate I ordered in the mail formatted. For refernece, not that it probably makes a difference, but Naruto Clash of Ninja Revolution 2 and Naruto Shippuden Gekitou Ninja Taisen EX 3 (CoNR3 is roughly a localization of it with a lot of changes) don't have this issue for me nor do any other Wii game I've stuck on the drive.

Great work guys, loving the loader and really appreciate the hard work!

I noticed that when adding "profile_names", the configurator reads a space as a break and interprets "Kids Games" as two different profiles, one named 'Kids' and one named 'Games'. Probably not working as intended.

To be absolutely clear;

profile_names = Racing, Kids Games, Sports, Platform

will yield 5 profiles and not 4 as you would expect.
OTOH:

profile_names = Racing, KidsGames, Sports, Platform

will yield 4 profiles correctly. Can't test if it really works the same way in the loader atm but at least you'll know there is a tiny bug there somewhere...

Here is a testing version with some fat optimizations, that might speed up some games:
cfg48t1-fat.dol
Those that experienced slower performance using fat please test this and let me know if it works any better (or worse).

Nope, it may seem slightly unintuative, but oggzee intended it to work that way. Both spaces and commas are interpreted as separators. You'll have to use underscores or one of the unused characters in our Unicode character map (Ÿ at 0x9F (type Alt-0159 in Windows) is a good choice) to approximate spaces.

Then again, if there's enough of a fuss, I doubt oggzee would have trouble changing it to accept spaces in profile names.

The solution is simple: Use underscore as placeholder for a space. And on printing replace the underscore by space. (There is no need for a real underscore)
That would require a change to Cfg. The Ÿ character will work the same way with the current versions of Cfg. Actually, I just realised that the key sequence Alt-0160 should also work, it's a Unicode space character, so it actually looks like that too: " ". It's a pity though, it seems to get replaced with a real space if you try to copy and paste it, but I confirmed the sequence works in my Configurator when you hold Alt and type 0160 on the numpad as I suggested.

That did it for me. The particular game in question's music no longer skip at all anymore from the various parts i've been playing for a good while now. Also loading in general seems faster but I couldn't tell you if that's just a placebo effect as I hadn't directly compared back and forth. The issue I was having though is definitely no longer there.

As before, thanks, there's no question why this is the loader of choice for me and this only strengthens that fact. It goes without saying that I appreciate the work you all do.

Make sure you put "device=sd" or "device=ask" instead of "device=usb" into your config.txt. The config.txt in the main package comes with device pre-configured to usb. Also ensure you are not using one of the FAT versions of the loader.

Could someone please help me out with Configurable USB Loader in combination with Loadstructor?
I made the channels with Loadstructor, with the option of Configurable USB Loader Forwarder (WiiNinja). Installed the channels. They show up properly, but when I start the game I only get a black screen. Does this mean it doesn't forward in the right way? I have the following forwarder installed :USBLoaderCFG_Forwarder-UCXF.
Thanks in advance for helping a noob out

.

Use Crap v2.2. It uses Narolez's forwarder and it works for configurable usb loader. It has the option in the loader section to use it. Works great.

Loading ISO's via USB Network Adapter (no wifi) would be a nice NEW feature.
If you can read data true the USB port of the wii then this would be possible.
The speed can be as fast as USB2.0 with an adapter. Wifi will be much slower.

or am I wrong?

I don't know about the speed but i'm not adding that, besides, it is already covered in the FAQ:

http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=147638#faq

Some known issues and suggestions that are frequently asked about:
* Return directly to the loader when exiting a game: use preloader!
* Black bar at the bottom of screen in console mode with 576i video mode
* Banner animations or icons
* GUI settings
* GUI game start screen
* New Gecko OS 1.9.x (aka Ocarina 2)
* DONE: GC and other controllers
* GC / DVD / HBC launcher
* DONE: Multiple wbfs partitions support
* DONE: Automatic download/update of titles
* Automatic download/update of themes,...
* Spinning discs
* NAND emulation
* Screensaver
* HQ cover zooming
* Coverflow Grid mode
* DONE: Profiles / Multiple favorite groups
* Disable intro screen
* WiitDB integration (game info: description, genres, which controllers, number of players, etc...)
* NO: Installing games over network

he didnt mean installing i think. he means that isos are streamed from a network storage instead of getting the data, while running the game, off a usb hdd.

Oh! Interesting idea, but while installing would be feasible to implement as it would only require changes to the loader, this on the other hand would be much harder to do as it would require major surgery of the IOS, which i doubt anyone is willing to do, I know i am not.
Besides while i don't think the speed would be usable.. someone could install .wbfs games to fat over network using ftpii. If someone has the time, go ahead and measure the speed of that over wifi and over lan adapter and report back....

Hi there, this may have been asked before, but I couldn't find any info on it after the usual google search and on various forums etc. Is there a way to copy games from a usb stick to a usb drive attatched to the wii? ie wbfs device to wbfs device. I don't want to have to remove my hard drive every time I want to install a game. Is there any way to do it in the wii without the dvd? Whenever I open the file explorer app on the wii, it says it can't find my usb drive, think that might only pick up fat32 usb devices, garr!

At the moment no such thing exists on the wii.
You will have to plug those to the pc and use one of the wbfs managers...
