There isn't really any plug and play solution for the system menu disc channel loading.

If you really don't want to use cIOSCORP, then your best bet is to set the "System menu IOS" setting in preloader to 249, then enable the "Force Discs to run under IOS249" hack. If that doesn't work, I don't know why (could be a bad burn, not sure).

However, if you decide to use cIOSCORP v3.4, just change the "System menu IOS" setting to 60, after installing cIOSCORP v3.4, and it should work fine.

It's not that I don't want to use CIOSCORP... it's just that it hasn't worked for me on 4.2.

Preloader seems to not change the IOS version.

Would it be possible to get your dip patched IOS 70?

I don't have it with me ATM (I'm using public access internet).

I don't really want to release it on its own anyway. Have you tried installing IOS60 version 6174, then installing System Menu 4.1 of your region (after, and only after installing IOS60 v6174)?

Use NUSD to download them and pack them into wads, then use Wad Manager to install them. Be aware that installing the System Menu will overwrite preloader, so you may want to reinstall preloader afterwards.

Also remember that preloader needs the ES_Identify function in the System Menu IOS (in 4.1's case it's IOS60) to be patched.
Preloader 0.29 patches IOS60 for you, but preloader 0.30 does not.

WAIT!
If you have already installed cIOSCORP v3.4, you will not need to download IOS60 and patch it, as the one in v3.4 has it already patched for you (and it would've overwritten the stub that 4.2 tried to install).

I'm on 4.2.... downgrading will be extremely difficult, if not impossible...

I'm going to try burning another game and confirm it wasn't a bad burn.
