I'm a bit confused >.<
It appears there are 2 different language patches for Pokemon HG/SS?

http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=177387 ("Shape the future" translation)
http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=178847 (Kazo's)

Do you guys know which one is better?
And will I need to apply an anti-piracy patch, THEN apply this patch, or is it included in the language patch, or do I not need it?
I'm using an AceKard 2i with Akaio 1.4.1

Thanks for any help!

You can't apply two different patches to the same game, because each patch requires the clean ROM, and it you patch it once, then it's not clean anymore. Both patches supposedly have some anti-piracy fixes, but are still buggy. There is a patch that completely fixes the anti-piracy protection but it has no translations. You can check this topic for opinions on which translation is better: http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=179344
Best thing to do is to wait for the US release.

Raqib12's language patch seems to be very stable for most people with all the flash carts listed in the first post, with the latest firmware. Raqib12's patch uses the latest Rudolph patch. I haven't tried Kazo's patch so I can't say anything about it. I have been running Soul Silver on my M3Real with the 4.4x firmware for around 12 hours, I fell asleep with it on :/, and it has yet to freeze or black screen with Raqib12's patch.

They are both pretty good.

The basic translations needed to better play the game are there in both patches.

You can see the exact specifications of each patches in their own respective threads to see if what you need has been translated or not.

so if you just need a basic menu, pokemon name, pokemon center, pokemart, etc translation (like me), both are fine.

Rabiq's inclusion of the freezing patch is not that much of a feature, you can download it and patch it yourself in 30 seconds, and you only need to do it once.

-------------------

actually, here it is as of now.

RABIQ

* Physical menu interface [75%]
* Pokédex [100%]
* Pokémon [99%] (I may have missed something... please report to me if you've found anything)
* Bag [90%] (All items and descriptions inserted; most items translated, no descriptions translated yet) [NOTE*Mostly inserted from Platinum]
* PokéGear [75%] (Most locations done, no descriptions done yet)
* Trainer Card [100%]
* Report [100%]
* Options [100%]
* Continue screen [50%] (Descriptions left)
* In-Battle [95%] (I was playing earlier, and I saw the elemental types were not done for when Porygon uses "Conversion") [NOTE*Mostly inserted from Platinum]
* Box Operations [70%] (A lot of the untranslated text is because I'd like to keep it as similar to the localized text as possible. If anyone can confirm the untranslated lines, that'd be much appreciated!)
* Pokémon Center [80%] (All of Nurse Joy translated)
* PokéMart [90%]
* Kurt's Balls [0%] (You effing perverts.)
* Wi-Fi Operations [0%]
* Battle frontier [0%]
* Trainer Titles [90%]
* Trainer Names [30%][/b] (All key people translated, though, some people weren't even on the list, such as Melody/Professor Elm)
* Pokémon Emotions [0%] (I am still contemplating this one)

Raqib12's Patch No longer says his name instead of Touch to Start, His name is added to the top screen as a static image below The Pokemon Logo. I find it quite unobtrusive the way it is now.

^ ah ok, he must've changed it since the last version i used.

that is indeed alot less obstructive.

i'll be sure to edit that part.

thanks.

well, in this case, it really doesn't matter much which version you use, since like i said, the basic translations are included in both.

One thing I'd like to add, though, is that the pre-loaded Rudolph's patch on Raqib's patch does make it so your .sav file won't work with a clean version of the ROM, iirc.

So if you're planning on picking up the US version and using your save, you won't with Raqib's translation.

I think. If I'm wrong, please, someone correct me.

I tested the save from a clean rom with the Raqib's 3.5 patch on a M3DSSimply and it loaded just fine, I then saved over the clean save and it was recognized by the Clean Rom, I will test again with my M3Real and let you know how it works.

Damn, none of them work here.

Or Kazo's worked only thing is that it keeps freeze, the black screen freeze thing and i don't know how to fix it>.<

When i try to use the other1 i get this when i try to patch it: the Xdelta patching utility was unable to apply the patch. bla bla.

any1 know to fix the freezing problem with Kazo's or anything with the shape the future?

Or, if any1 had an patched nds file that works with AK2i it would be great if you could share it =D
