We were hyped about Professor Layton 2 over a year ago, when we finished the first one we were dying for more. It's just taken them so bloody long to get around to releasing it that the hype's burnt out and been replaced with frustration. The American release was in Febuary 2008, that's over a year ago, the second title was already out in Japan then and now everyone's just fed up of waiting.

You'll probably hear a bit more about it when it's actually out.

It took what... 2 years for the Japanese version to get translated?
They dropped the ball big time.
Layton 1 was pretty popular when it was new, now you can't expect people to really give a shit, they've moved on.
If 2 had been released soon after 1, I'd have been all over it, I had a blast with the first game. Now I don't care.

Besides, I never really liked doing I HAFF TWELVE MATCHSTEEK problems while I was supposed to be chasing some mysterious kidnapper across moonlit streets. It was just silly.

It took 16 years for them to bring FF3 to the states. Yet it still met some decent success. And if you want a sequel that took a while, how about Mother 3? It was released 12 years after Earthbound/Mother 2 in Japan.

I never saw the appeal of Professor Layton. My dad likes it, but I'm just not a big fan of logic puzzles and stuff. I perfer beating the living shit out of hordes of mindless baddies and mindlessly grinding levels.

I'm still trying to finish the first one. I'm more into action games myself, but I couldn't help fall in love with the incredible polish of this game. I picked it up again recently, and I'm about 40 puzzles in. I think I might actually see it through to the end this time. If so, I'll probably take a gander at this next one. But yeah, something like Scribblenauts is more up my ally, since there seems to be a mix of action and puzzle solving.

This is for me the game I am looking forwarded to the most after scribblenauts by far, there isnt really much hype about it though since its been a long time coming and all information about it has been available for forever anyway, now all we can do is await its release then hopefully get a game which is as awesome as the first one. If it is even half as great i will be a happy DS owner.

Forget the negativity from above, hell yeah I'm hyped about Layton 2!

(and yes, I was there during those crap times when there wasn't any news about a 2nd release to the U.S.)

Really looking forward to it. Lent the first one to my wife before I'd had chance to play it. If I give her the second one I might just get to play the first!!

I've still yet to get into the first game, I try but I lose interest after several puzzles. Even my mum enjoys it more than me.

I guess I'm more in a action mood nowadays, kinda burned out on these sort of games.

I`m personally very hyped about this game. The first one was great! Great Puzzles, great music, great artstyle, great story...!!!!!

I don`t know, why it is such a problem, that it took them so long to bring the game to the west... It`s not like the first one ended with a cliff-hanger or something...

I`m just glad, that I get to play it, because the first one was so amazingly great!

Haha, that's exactly the same with me. Gave my mum the DS for an hour and didn't hear from her the entire time, except to ask me about a puzzle. But I find it frustrating when you get stuck, and there's no real reward when you pass a puzzle... Except more puzzles. Perhaps some softcore nudity would make it better? MILFs and the Curious Village?

Yea i was super hyped after the first one came and i finished that one, but like many people here, its just taking so dam long to release the 2nd one! But when you look at it from a dev's point of view, especially for this game, that they would have to find many many more puzzles as not to re use old ones or boring ones, so yea i can wait, but atleast i take comfort knowing its gnna be released this year

Sadly, I am stupid and I hate using brain power when playing games. Though the story for Layton was pretty cool from what I heard. And the puzzles are actually not bad (I only played a few). Not really hyped, but still glad it will be coming out in the US. We need more of these and less shovelware crap.

Offtopic: TheDestroyer, wheres the Boom Head Shot? I liked it lol.

Edit: LOL. You can chnage back to your new avatr. Was just curious.

@AncientBoi, Yeah, believe you can do PSP games as well. But a Pi5 is much powerful in comparison.

Not sure about other models of Pi4 but the Pi 4 B with 8GBs OCed to 2Ghz handles PSP really great except like 1 game I found and it is playable it just looks bad lol Motor Storm Arctic something or other.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Other games I can have turned up to like 2X and all kinds of enhancements, Motorstorm hmmm nope 1X and no enhancements lol

I will admit that one does seem more interesting than the usual Ambernic ones, and I already liked those.

    I dread the price point.

This looks like one of their premium models, so... $150 :glare:

  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
    To me that seems reasonable.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I mean since basically all the games are errmmm free lol
  • Veho @ Veho:
I mean yeah sure but the specs are the same as a $50 model, it's just those pesky "quality of life" things driving up the price, like an actually working speaker, or buttons that don't melt, and stuff like that.

  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think all in my Pi 4 was well north of 200 bucks 150ish for the Pi 4 the case the fancy cooler, then like 70 for the 500GB MicroSD then like 70 for the Xbox controller. But honestly it's a nice set up I really enjoy and to me was worth every penny. (even bought more controllers for 2 or 4 player games.) hmmm have never played any 2 player games yet :(
  • Veho @ Veho:
Yeah that's what I hate about the RPi, it's supposedly $30 or something but it takes an additional $200 of accessories to actually turn it into a working something.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
yes that's the expensive part lol
  • Veho @ Veho:
I mean sure it's flexible and stuff but so is uremum but it's fiddly.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Yeah a lot of it I consider a hobby, using Batocera I am constantly adjusting the collection adding and removing stuff, scraping the artwork. Haven't even started on some music for the theme... Also way down the road I am considering attempting to do a WiiFlow knock off lol
  • Veho @ Veho:
I want everything served on a plate plz ktnx, "work" is too much work for me.
  • Veho @ Veho:
Hmm, with that in mind, maybe a complete out-the-box solution with all the games collected, pacthed and optimized for me would be worth $150
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Yeah it's all choice and that's a good thing :)
