Is there a way or creating a direct channel on the wii using gx usb-loader to point to a game directly in the HDD?

Thanks - will search around when I get home from work.

Also it won't let me install MadWorld from a retail disc, not a copy.....after a while it stucks...once at 48.18%, once at 74%

Disc might be dirty or have a lot of scratches.

Also you can try using a different loader to install the game and see if that fixes it.
the disc is perfect....It's not rented...it's mine....

another loader to try?
coverflow?

Use your PC and load it with WBFS Manager 3.0, you will get your answer if it is your disc or not...

He has the official disc not the iso image of it.
Plus to load it through his pc he would need a special drive that reads the wii discs which i doubt he has.

True, forgot about that...

Anyone have a channel installer with the latest stable build? I cant keep the forwarder from hanging and having to shutdown/restart upon every cold start up.

Edit.. I may have figured it out.

Thanks! I appreciate the response and link.

Is the new update not in the server yet? When I go to update. says theres no updates

it doesn't always hit the server right away.
whoever's coding this specific rlease has to compile it, upload it for direct download, and FTP it, and other files to the update server, its a pain in the butt.

I'd do it on a regular basis if I knew how to compile.

80% of all hacked Wiis were not all hacked the same way. There's 1000 different guides telling noobs to do 1000 different things to their systems. Different sysmenus, different cIOS revisions installed which have different fixes and different bugs... I personally use use cIOS 222 installed as 37 merge 36 globally for all but two of my games and those two games get booted with cIOS 249 rev 12 because it has the "no disc in drive fix" and because it doesn't have the hard reset bug that rev 13 has. For some reason USB Loader GX would go to black screen if I set it globally to 249 and then tried to boot an individual game with 222. I flipped them and now everything boots perfectly. So that's what I mean by different strokes for different folks. Some people have no problem with 249, some do.

QUOTENot sure you really got your answer on the HERMES CIOS 222/223. Hermes CIOS from what I understand is basically an alternative to CIOS 249. It also includes a basic function to stop hard drive spin-downs (which works, but I can't confirm how long it actually works). CIOS 223 (Merging IOS 60 w/ 36 --I believe) allows USB instrument support on the second USB slot. But basically it is a preference thing. I have been experimenting with the CIOS 222/223 to try to get my hard drive to stop spinning down as I have an old hard drive, and it doesn't have APM that I can modify.

Thanks guys. That clears it up for me a bit. I figured it had something to do with the method the Wii was hacked, and the hardware being used. I never factored in the USB drive being what was different. Makes me more confident that if I use the same method of hacking other Wiis they will work the same way mine does.

I'm still fuzzy.... when I try and install the Hermes CIOS, I don't get an option to install it to 222 or 223. I get everything BUT those options. I assumed I would install the Hermes cIOS to 222 and 223, then Waninkoko's cIOS to 249/250. From there, I'd have an option of what cIOS to use in the Loader's menu.

Nobody (who has everything working and understands this stuff inside and out) wants to do a tutorial on how to PROPERLY set up the cIOS installs to get maximum compatibility for the USB Loaders, and I haven't seen any helpful compatibility guides for games to indicate the best settings to use. That would greatly simplify things, instead of blindly changing values and re-installing cIOSes and getting endless code dumps, not knowing if it's the loader, the cIOS or something else causing the problems.

Okay, I'm just clueless now.

I have tried using the latest revision of USBLoader GX to boot my games, but I have some problems.
The free space shows up as "4.27GB of 79.74GB" whereas I have only installed 3 games and had a clean format. This makes me believe the space shown is incorrect. Also, when I check the gamelist, I see the amount of entries as I have games installed, but they all show up as the same game, ex:
MadWorld
MadWorld
MadWorld

When I boot up CoverFloader, I have none of those problems. It also works fine when I use rev516 of USBLoader GX. I would love to continue using that, but it's just that the cover downloading function in that rev's broken. As a sidenote, I'm using cIOS 36 rev 10 because that's the last and only cIOS that recognizes my HDD. cIOS 38 revXX won't work at all.

Can anybody help me with this? It would be greatly appreciated

guys, am i doing summit wrong here

i run via USB, when i launch the app via HBC the defaul;tpaths are correct i.e. USB/.....

when I launch via the forwarded, the defaults change to SD/......

any ideas

You using the latest forwarder channel? It looks on sd first then usb i believe.

Sounds to me like you still have everything on the sd card as well as the usb and when your going through hbc to do it your loading the settings from the hard drive and when your going through the forwarder you still might have your sd card inserted and its loading the config file from it instead of loading it from the usb drive.

If this is the case just delete the config file on the sd card and you will still be able to use the card in the wii and use the forwarder channel still.

tnx for the reply, yes using the latest 16/06/09 forwarder

no SD inserted when launching from the forwarder.

it could be that i am installing the forwarder from the SD card using WADManagr 4

the reason i have to do this is that WADmanager4 wont install the wad from the USB partition on the USB drive. it detects the wad but i get an error 4100 when installing

any more takers

Why do Ocarina codes always code dump for me?

The file creates fine, but when launching the game with them, it code dumps.

Try making your codes on the PC, the transfering them over. I get code dumps when i have Ocarina on for a game without any codes, try turning ocarina off and on, then checking if its turned on in the seperate game settings

It doesn't matter how the forwarder was installed.I use wad manager on my sd card to install all my wads and i used it to install the latest forwarder to gx loader and i now run everything off the usb hard drive and have no problems with it at all.

Only problem i did have when i first did it was i had to delete the config files from the sd card because i still had the sd card inserted even though i wasn't using the gx loader from there anymore it was still loading it instead of the gx loader from the hard drive.

I had this installing Hermes cIOS222 to 249, re-installed Waninkoko's cIOS and it went away. Never touched my config files.

My brother does not want the new Wii I modded for him.

Is there a way to uninstall the channels. Like I have BootMii as IOS, the HBC Channel, and USB Loader GX Channel through a forwarder.

Will removing the SD card and the channels manually through setting be sufficient?

I mean I know the items are still installed but they work fine, but I want to just sell it to someone.

Thanks

Just sell it modded on craigslist. You will probly get more this way.
