Well i agree with ya bushing, i'm not trying to argue with you on this.
It was a quick mod i know i could have done a better Job, but it worked good how it was.
I dont even know why i'm still discussing this with you cause i have no plans of ever updating it.
Well its been good discussing alittle of this with ya. Its been fun.lol

edit: And yes i did do alot of testing on it before hand.

edit again: I only done the IOS's 28-60 by hand on adding the patch to app1, i never changed the version number on any of the IOS's the Lower IOS's a modifield cios installer was used to install the rev7 over them IOS slots i guess it keep the version number of the CIOSrev7 if anything that was just a unseen mistake. honestly i didn't even know that, that had happen until i seen your hackmii installer log, but doesn't really matter anyways a update blocker was always used and plus it made it easy for any game to over write the Ios's.

Bushing, IF you did make the april fools VC deleter, how would it distinguish the Homebrew Channel from other fakesigned channels?

I'm sure there would be a million ways, even just the titleID.

because they know the HBC title ID obviously :-)

I like cioscorp. Let's you play games from the disc channel and can be easily uninstalled if you want.

sure, this is why people like that hack
however, this does not make a good hack simply because fool people find it "useful"
I think bushing clearly explained the points why this is and always was a poor & lazy idea to patch all those IOS that way... well, even wiicrazy who originally had the idea recognized it was stupid

and yes, cIOScorp IS destructive because it radically changes IOS installed on your Wii in a way they were not designed to

In my opinion, the less intrusive hack is the better, that's why I would love a CiOS loaded by Bootmii (as armboot.bin) on startup that:
-has all common cIOS feature
(DIP module, EHCI module, ES patches, etc)
- prevents IOS reload when titles try to reload them OR patch the DIP module on the fly before giving the hand to the new IOS, if that's even possible
(so we don't need to patch ALL ios with the DIP module)
- load its modules from SD instead of NAND
(this reduces intrusivity and make updating of cIOS modules much easier)

t was recovery disk and autoboot disc, I guess backup loading with disc banners is what most use it for

Now wait a minute blaster.... as I recall, when Ironmask and I were testing CIOSCORP for you, i remember that we were happily suprised to find out that we could boot backup autoboot utility disks. If memory serves me right, that was an uninteneded consequence that just happed to work out great. I dont recall that the intent was ever to make autoboot utility disks work. But if you say so....

But nonetheless, im sure somebody who's been into Wii hacking for 2 months now will come along and tell us what really took place! heh

No you heard me correct, Thats what i use it for, I dont use it for Backup Loading Never have Never Will hell i never even had it fully installed, Now is that why it was made? No it was made for backup Loading. But not for me, And i will repeat NO ONE tested for me, I already had tested when you guys decided to go for it

edit: You might have tested it, but i'd already tested before hand, Also about backup loading yes i did test that, so yes i have used it for backup loading but only in testing. That was never My Use for it, has it was others, I gained Something i wanted while the main Users gained backup loading through the disc Channel.

I know you tested it yourself before you sent it to Ironmask. Adding the Wink to your quote made your statement more accurate! I remember specifically when you had us give it a thorough test that you had already installed and tested it yourself though. At the time, with backup loading being the big thing in Wii hacking CIOSCORP was the shiznitz. Do you have the link to the original 500 page or so CIOSCORP thread?

Ahhhh... the good old days..... before the 50,000 noobs and non-stop duplicate questions.

Yeah... and cIOSCORP is also a brick magnet.

I felt like playing with fire shortly after I installed bootmii. I never really like the idea of cIOSCORP because it sounded very dangerous. But since I had bootmii, I thought, "Lets see why people like this".

Shortly after installing it and playing around with it(and getting frustrated because my System Menu would randomly crash or give me a "System files corrupt" message), I decided to run a System Update.

Now, I'm running 4.0U. As far as I know, this is the newest firmware in my region. Well, guess what? It found an update.

I let it install, and what did I get after it did so? A black screen. If I didnt have bootmii installed, my system would have been little more than an expensive white brick.

Moral of the story - NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER OVERWRITE EXISTING IOS WITH PATCHED ONES! Even without the bricking, you could tell something was wrong by the constant freezes/messages in the System menu. And all that just to save a few clicks? Definitely NOT worth it.

Hi Guys

Can i ask a quick question, I was ready above that CIOSCORP is easy to unintall but i've also read a few different way of doing it.

Do i just install the orginal ios via wad manager, or does IOS downgrader also do the same trick?. CIOSCORP has always worked for me without any error or problems, but now that I'm using a USB loader i got no real use for it.
