assassda said:online install is actually really easy.loash said:i'm confused by the way this guide is written. if i want to do online install, do i do steps 1 to 7 then 9 to 15?
you do the online steps... which are 1-7
the offline guide goes up to 15 you dont have to use both
ok, thanks

what firmware are you at right now?
sounds goodRStrauss11 said:I need this wonderful forums help. I supplied this tutorial and files to my friend.
He said everything was done as the tutorial said to.
He is upgraded to 4.0, but for some reason, I dont know what the hell he did.
His Wii is all in Japanese.
Any ideas what he did, and mainly how I can fix it.
Thank you in advance....
since hes on 4.0 i assume he used the offline guide?
tell him to do it again but pick the right version when you run prepare.bat
QUOTE(madeirabhoy @ Jun 17 2009, 11:40 AM) 1. run the IOS downgrader.
2. run the CIOS downgrader.
3. Install the USB CIOS
4. Install DVDx and follow instructions for that.
5. Basically follow on from post 4. of this guide again.
TroyTheZombie said:i take it you are using a cIOSRev higher than 10. try your other usb port.

QUOTE(reddevilmeuk @ Jun 17 2009, 04:13 PM) I'm running with cIOS rev10 and wanted a step by step procedure to upgrade to rev13... can someone please help
reddevilmeuk said:but the question is how?! i have the .dol file but dont know what to do with it
Make sure .dol is named boot.dol, put boot.dol in folder named whatever you want, put said folder in apps folder, apps folder should be on the root of sd card, run that application through hbc, select network install as long as you have wifi.
I suggest only upgrading to rev13 if you have a problem with rev10 though like needing the other usb port for a lan adapter or something, in which case a network install probably wouldn't work anyways and you'd have to get the wad file that that rev uses and put that on your sd card and do a wad installation.
QUOTE(thehoff @ Jun 17 2009, 03:32 PM) hi,
i have a slight problem with IOS downgrader:
when i run it, i can chose wether to continue with A or reset the wii with B
when i click A it does the same as B, reseting the wii....and no IOS was downgraded because nothng was done.
wifi is there, no other errors...just the reset message.
before that i downgraded from 4.0U to 3.2U and that time worked fine! and the IOS downgrader worked too...i ran it and it loaded some files of the internet.
then i went back to 4.0U with the firmware updater...and just for the fun of it i wanted to downgrade again. and i started with IOS downgrader again, but this time with the told problem.
any ideas?
format the SD card definitelyreddevilmeuk said:but the question is how?! i have the .dol file but dont know what to do with it
put at X:\apps\ciosinstaller\boot.dol and run with hbc
or put it at X:\boot.dol and run bannerbomb
I did the entire tutorial successfully but when I try to access to my SD card through the original Nintendo menu my Wii freeze.RStrauss11 said:My friend drop off his Wii that is now in Japanese.
This is screwed. Does anyone know why the whole Wii would now have 4.0J on it.
He said he followed the instructions exactly, which obviously he didnt.
The bad thing is everything he had Homebrew Channel, Wads, everything is gone.
Its seems to be straight 4.0 in Japanese. Preloader is there but cant go to homebrew it says its not installed.
Please help...What do I do???
We already said run cIOS Downgrader again and choose the right region. then use the Waninkoko Updater
if using offline be sure to pick the right version number (417 for 4.0U)
if hbc ever stops working just reinstall with bannerbomb, keep preloader installeddrSTRIFE said:I have question regarding the homebrew channel. I updated homebrew to the newest version using hackmii and also have bootmii IOS installed. I read that some people are having trouble using the homebrew channel for online installation when its installed with bootmii since the new homebrew channel usings IOS 60 now, so should I install the homebrew channel again using bannerbomb?
