He probably changed his region to Jap lol he porbably did something when downgrading.

so it seems like the thing to do is downgrade with IOS and cIOS-Downgrader. then install usb 2.0 and then update

cheers. so just be clear coz im easily confused by all of this:
1. run the IOS downgrader.
2. run the CIOS downgrader.
3. Install the USB CIOS
4. Install DVDx and follow instructions for that.
5. Basically follow on from post 4. of this guide again.

is that correct?

thanks in advance

thats all i have to do, run the IOS downgrader, then the CIOS downgrader

i'm confused by the way this guide is written. if i want to do online install, do i do steps 1 to 7 then 9 to 15?
you do the online steps... which are 1-7

the offline guide goes up to 15 you dont have to use both

ok, thanks

online install is actually really easy.

what firmware are you at right now?

if you're talking to me, i'm on firmware 3.3u
i have usbloader running fine, hbc and bootmii as well. i want to go to 4.0 for the sd/sdhc wiiware loading stuff. seems pretty simple if it's just the online steps, i never bothered upgrading to 4.0 since i thought it would be more complicated

doing these steps will allow me to access the wii shop too, right?

I need this wonderful forums help. I supplied this tutorial and files to my friend.
He said everything was done as the tutorial said to.
He is upgraded to 4.0, but for some reason, I dont know what the hell he did.
His Wii is all in Japanese.

Any ideas what he did, and mainly how I can fix it.
Thank you in advance....
since hes on 4.0 i assume he used the offline guide?
tell him to do it again but pick the right version when you run prepare.bat

i just followed the online guide, works great except usb loader doesnt work now. it can't find my hard drive. any suggestions?

i take it you are using a cIOSRev higher than 10. try your other usb port.

i downloaded to rev10 and it works now, didnt read this message until after i downgraded. i'll try the newest one again with the other usb port

thanks for the guide, it was really helpful and now i can finally load games from my sd card

done ios and cios downgraders, back to 3.2e

finally got the usb cios running, it didnt offer me any options whereas wiibrew said i should be choosing 202 as ios46, it just installed and said it was installed. ran the dvdx installer. seemed to install. opened mplayer ce and it still cant see my drive...

what am i doing wrong?

drive is two partitions

1. is fat32
2. is wbfs and usb loader can work from it so i know its fine.

He did do it the Online Method.
What is the easiet way for me to fix this?

downgrade using cIOS downgrader, and this time pick 3.2U.

then, reupdate using wanikoko's updater.

He'll probably end up with 2 weather channels, etc etc. there is a tool to clear these, but I cannot recall its name. but any title deleter will work too, just look up the title IDs for the japanese ones at wiibrew.

Hi,

1. Install cios rev13

hi,

i have a slight problem with IOS downgrader:

when i run it, i can chose wether to continue with A or reset the wii with B
when i click A it does the same as B, reseting the wii....and no IOS was downgraded because nothng was done.
wifi is there, no other errors...just the reset message.

before that i downgraded from 4.0U to 3.2U and that time worked fine! and the IOS downgrader worked too...i ran it and it loaded some files of the internet.

then i went back to 4.0U with the firmware updater...and just for the fun of it i wanted to downgrade again. and i started with IOS downgrader again, but this time with the told problem.

any ideas?

but the question is how?! i have the .dol file but dont know what to do with it

Make sure .dol is named boot.dol, put boot.dol in folder named whatever you want, put said folder in apps folder, apps folder should be on the root of sd card, run that application through hbc, select network install as long as you have wifi.

I suggest only upgrading to rev13 if you have a problem with rev10 though like needing the other usb port for a lan adapter or something, in which case a network install probably wouldn't work anyways and you'd have to get the wad file that that rev uses and put that on your sd card and do a wad installation.

There is no problem, if you've run IOS downgrader before, you have downgraded your IOS's already. IOS downgrader will only downgrade what isn't downgraded and you have nothing to downgrade so it shouldn't do anything

My friend drop off his Wii that is now in Japanese.
This is screwed. Does anyone know why the whole Wii would now have 4.0J on it.
He said he followed the instructions exactly, which obviously he didnt.
The bad thing is everything he had Homebrew Channel, Wads, everything is gone.
Its seems to be straight 4.0 in Japanese. Preloader is there but cant go to homebrew it says its not installed.

Please help...What do I do???

I have question regarding the homebrew channel. I updated homebrew to the newest version using hackmii and also have bootmii IOS installed. I read that some people are having trouble using the homebrew channel for online installation when its installed with bootmii since the new homebrew channel usings IOS 60 now, so should I install the homebrew channel again using bannerbomb?

Looking for a direct link to download CIOS rev 13a been searching and haven't seen one yet. I ight have overlooked it tho any help would be great. Thanks

I did the entire tutorial successfully but when I try to access to my SD card through the original Nintendo menu my Wii freeze.
Any clue?

I have lots of random stuff on my SD card.. should I erase some?

edit :
I'll try to try again from step one and delete some stuff on my SD card...

edit2:
I removed all files from the SD card and now it is working fine.. I can load game from the SD
biggrin.gif

Tomorrow, I'll try to find out what was the cause of the crash..
I'll update this post when I found why.
Anyone knows how to install games directly to an SD card without installing them into the Wii internal memory first? I'm planning to buy a 32gb SD card and install all games

put at X:\apps\ciosinstaller\boot.dol and run with hbc
or put it at X:\boot.dol and run bannerbomb

We already said run cIOS Downgrader again and choose the right region. then use the Waninkoko Updater
if using offline be sure to pick the right version number (417 for 4.0U)

if hbc ever stops working just reinstall with bannerbomb, keep preloader installed
