or wait for a few hours till we say what kind of fixes cIOS36_rev11 os going to have in itilnyc said:Quick question: If I can save a game to and play it from a 2GB Kingston flash drive with the USB loader 1.5, but can't get an 80GB USB Hdd to work, this means there is nothing wrong inside the Wii console, including the HBC, cIOS, loaders, etc, right?
I tried to format and reformat the hdd to wbfs but whatever i do the Wii doesn't see it. Is it time to look for a new hdd for compatibility?
it depend on what loader do you use , you should report the bug in that thread or at the source code release pagekc7zzv said:Sorry if this is the wrong place to send this. I didn't know where I should send it.
I found a reproducible crash when using USB loader. I have no idea if the problem just applys to me, is in the loader, or the IOS. If I have the USB ethernet adapter setup and NOT plugged in, the loader will always crash before I've finished ripping a disc. It'll also always crash when I launch Brawl off a harddrive. Brawl always crashes before I manage to get 15 seconds into a match. (Probably means it crashes within 1 min of starting Brawl)
In this context "crash" means going to the screen with the register dump, or a disc read error, or the system hangs.
I had 3 connection profiles. Two were wireless, and the third was wired. The wired one was selected when it was crashing. It stopped crashing when I cleared the third connection. Now I don't have internet access (and don't really care) and it's never crashed again after 15 hours of game play and ripping 10 discs.
BIG MOE said:first of all the loader does see the drive with the games on it , so the setup is rightsionsays said:moe have you found a solution to the eject disk error?
I'm waiting on my friend to send me his Wii with broken dvd drive and I'll see what's going on with it .
Hello -Rmverbaan said:I have usb loader up and running after a few hours.
But when i wanna play Guitar Hero 3 after a couple of seconds the
game stops, you still see the game but you can't do anything.
Is this because i wanna play it with the wii guitar or is it something else.
Please help me!!!
does your guitar connects to the Wii via Wiimote or via USB receiver ??

I'm hoping someone can help me out. I followed BIG MOE's guide to getting my Wii ready-to-go with homebrew channel/etc (and it worked like a charm!). I started with a 3.4U system, got HBC installed, and also installed Backup Loader Gamma. Every backup I burned and played made my Wii drive sound like it was going to break (and I was using RiData DVD-R, burned in imgburn at 3x and 4x - neither made a difference).
So I decided to try the USB loader system to avoid any damage to my DVD drive, and downloaded WiiShizzza & the Crew Ultimate USB Loader 7.4 (and also the regular 1.5 usbloader version). I have tried both installing a game from USB loader right on my Wii (which takes a tad over an hour), and I have also transferred ISO's over to my flash drive via WBFS Manager 2.5. Any way I do it, when I try to start the game from USB Loader, the screen flashes green, then shows black, then shows the Wii channel screen for about 1 second, then just restarts the Wii and I'm back at the main system channel screen.
I have tried reinstalling all the cIOS files (rev 7, rev 9, rev 10, etc), and nothing seems to allow me to boot a game from usb loader. Any thoughts? I have used both a 8GB usb flash drive, and also a 120gig external USB harddrive - same results with both.
Oh, and finally, and maybe this is my main problem - my daughter updated the Wii to version 4.0U when I wasn't around. As far as I've read in this and other forums, if you have everything installed (HBC/etc) before upgrading to the Wii version 4, then you should be fine. Thanks for any help!, now reinstall cIOS36_rev10 again and be sure it finishes installation with success and ask you to press any button to reboot , then be sure the game you re trying to run is on the compatible game chart for the loader, and since you updated to 4.0 you wanna be sure the game region is the same as your console region cause Starfall don't exist on your system anymore , or install preloader 0.29 to be on the safe sideand post the results back here please
Thank you Big Moe for the heads up. I guess the incompatibility is from the enclosure, which translates between the PATA and USB2.0. Something about its USB2.0 is not liked by the Wii console.BIG MOE said:or wait for a few hours till we say what kind of fixes cIOS36_rev11 os going to have in it
well it's proven so far that external ( only USB ) HDDs are more likely to work with the Wii console and the USB Loaders , on the other hand external ( with Sata and Pata capability along with USB ) will have a conflict with the Wiiilnyc said:Thank you Big Moe for the heads up. unplug it from the power and the USB Connector , turn off the Wii completely then reconnect the HDD to Wii first then to power then power up the Wii and run the loader , if the loader still didn't recognize the drive and gave you the count down screen go ahead and unplug the power of the HDD again for a couple of seconds and plug it back in , it should workZalda said:i'm getting a ret=-1 error with my 1tb essential western digital my book
it worked this morning, no it doesn't any more!!!
it's all the same concept with extras in some versus others , download the Ultimate USB Loader v7.4 and try it and see how is things so you can catch up on the concept and not get confusedjosho said:I am quite lost abt this USB loader even though I been reading it.
As there are so many links shown, which is the one I should get it download? In a way, the games can be installed on SD and play, right? So, for the games itself, is it like the past that we need to get dl and store on the card?
thanks for the help as I wanted to understand how it works. really appreciate for the help.
