Cool, got my 8GB Cruzer media stick to work. Used WiiShizzza's & the Crew Ultimate v7.4 USB Loader. Only worked on the sports package that originally comes with the Wii. I was able to rip from the disc onto the stick (only a .45GB file), remove the disc, and then play the game from the 8GB Cruzer...nice!

Placed my DeBlob backup disc into the Wii and also ripped that onto the Cruzer. Couldn't get it to play via the Cruzer though....it just hung on "loading....." I had to actually put the backup disc back in the Wii for it to play. Is this because I ripped a backup? Hmnnnn..

Great stuff guys! Props to all you "thinkers". I just kick back and reap the benefits! Almost feel guilty! NOT!

well it's very important for all of you to check out the new WBFS Manager 3.0 with the greatest benefits and options ever for a WBFS Manager to provide , it will make your life better and your Storage Device happier

Guys, I need some help. I have cios10 installed and homebrew channel working great. However, I can't get any of my usb drives to run using the usb loaders. I have tried several usb drives, at least many different thumb drives, a lexar 1gb model thumbdrive, a sandisk cruzer micro 8gb model thumbdrive, an ocz 16gb model thumbdrive, and adata 4gb thumbdrive, an Imation 2 gb and 4gb model thumbdrives, and cruzer professional 4gb and 2gb models, a seagate freeagent 300gb model external drive, a wd mybook 320 gb external drive, a simpletech 250 gb external drive, and an ide drive with a usb to ide adapter. None of these work. I have used Waninkoko 1.1 and 1.5, WiiShizzza & the Crew Ultimate USB Loader 7.4, and USB Loader LoPsT Edition that tries for 60 seconds before timing out. I constantly receive the error ret -1 using Waninkoko and the others don't recognize the usb drivers either.
Do you think I need to try and reinstall the cios? If so, how should I do it and which cios. Also, I wanna try and be safe about it. I am running system menu 3.4u.
Thanks for any help.....It will be greatly appreciated. You guys(and gals) that code this stuff are heroes......I don't see how ya'll do it. I don't know how many hours I have spent reading on this board. It is the most informative board on the whole internetweb.
Thanks again

Are you able to play any backup disc with the backuploader? If not probably the cIOS isn't working properly.

I haven't tried that. I thought you could only play backup discs with a chip modded wii. can you play a backup disc without performing a chip mod?

yes you can and it's better to softmod the wii the right way so PM me for the installer and follow the directions , and you will be ready to install cIOS36_rev10 and the USB Loader afterward

I got a series of question to clear my doubt and appreciate everyone's help tho.

1. Now I just need to install v7.4, and if i prefer other themes, I can download the other USB loader team, right?

2. Let's say after getting Ultimate V7.4 folder, how am I going to install the loader?

3. For instance, now I just need to go and download games of .iso, then load it to the SD card (but which folder)? Then launch the loader to find the game and get it install? May I know where it get it install to?

4. I can also go to Raffles Wii Box Art to get the disc image downloaded and store in Ultimate V7.4\wimages? I am using widescreen tv, so i just ignore image folder since it will auto detect my tv? I assume wimage means Wide Image?

5. How to know I have cIOS rev10? >is this the site to get it download?<

6. whats USB forwarder?

download the usb loader team?

You can download themes and replace the original skin by it

2. Let's say after getting Ultimate V7.4 folder, how am I going to install the loader?
You mean like having it in the wii menu? You will need a .wad of the loader then. Else just place it in the apps folder on sd and run with HBC like other apps

3. For instance, now I just need to go and download games of .iso, then load it to the SD card (but which folder)? Then launch the loader to find the game and get it install? May I know where it get it install to? You need a WBFS GUI to put .iso files on your HDD (and the HDD has to be formatted to WBFS). Then you can run them with a USB loader

4. I can also go to Raffles Wii Box Art to get the disc image downloaded and store in Ultimate V7.4\wimages? I am using widescreen tv, so i just ignore image folder since it will auto detect my tv? I assume wimage means Wide Image? yep wide images. But the covers have to be placed in another folder i think

5. How to know I have cIOS rev10? >is this the site to get it download?< see previous post, download is at http://www.teknoconsolas.es/blogs/waninkoko

6. whats USB forwarder? A forwarder channel does NOT contain the app. Instead it load the app in a specific folder on the SD card

no , each USBLoader have it's own themes and might vary from one revision to another at some cases (e.g : ver6.7 and ver7.x ) .

2. Let's say after getting Ultimate V7.4 folder, how am I going to install the loader?
follow instruction from readme file or the main thread of the Loader .

3. For instance, now I just need to go and download games of .iso, then load it to the SD card (but which folder)? Then launch the loader to find the game and get it install? May I know where it get it install to?
All loaders at this point do support USB Devices but some only support SD Card , and in both cases the device should be formated using WBFS Manager into WBFS Format and importing ISOs into the device should be done via WBFS Manager on your PC ( WBFS Manager 3.0 is recommended by me personally ) .

4. I can also go to Raffles Wii Box Art to get the disc image downloaded and store in Ultimate V7.4\wimages? I am using widescreen tv, so i just ignore image folder since it will auto detect my tv? I assume wimage means Wide Image?
Ultimate 7.4 don't support Disc Images , it only support Cover Arts , some other loaders do support Disc Images like the one coming from nIxx and Dimok but I'm waiting for a stable build to be introduced in this thread .

5. How to know I have cIOS rev10? >is this the site to get it download?<
install cIOS_rev10 and you will be sure that you have it installed

6. whats USB forwarder?
it is a channel that you can install with the ability to load boot.dol file from a USBLoader folder in your apps folder in the root of your SD Card , and this way you don't need to install a new channel every time a new version get released , but you change the boot.dol to the newer one

.
I hope this will help

good luck

Seriously i can't make it work! I got a 320gb HP Personal Media Drive and my Wii finally started recognizing it, after i installed cIOS36 rev 10. Now the problem is just that it keeps saying there is no WBFS partition, but there is!.

I partisized the drive so that the new partition was at 80gb, and i formatted to NTFS first, put some games on it using WBFS Manager 3.0... Well it didn't work (gave the "no partition error")
then i tried reformatting to FAT32 while putting games over and formatting to WBFS again.. Guess what.. THE SAME ERROR. What should i do??

for wanin USB Loader 1.5 you should place the cover art in ( SD:\usb-loader\covers\ ) and the loader will load it from there

on some drives partitions does not work right , for the first time if you have no valuable infos in your drive just format the whole drive using WBFS Manager 3.0 into WBFS format and load at least one game on it and try it

That's what i feared. i got tons of backed up important data on it... if backup didn't take so long time to make, i'd probably backup all on the drive, and prepare it for wii games

that's why I always advice the end users to have a storage device designated for the USB Loader , and I know it's an investment but it's worth it

Yay i got it working. I deleted the new partition, and did the whole thing again. This time i just set the new partition as Primary drive, and now it works!
