*Havent Read whole topic but...

I see you said you extracted WW:S so in that case, can I have the SD & SD-IV keys. BTW I doubt you have them, no offence.

Anyways I'm currently sifting through the DSi's firmware/system-menu code in ida pro to find these keys. No luck yet but still looking

.

*Note the SD and SD-IV keys are the keys used to encrypt channels when they are moved to an sd card.

*edit* Advice Dog & Tozarian your right with the "Wha???" because according to dsibrew the arm core is arm11

*edit2* why did the topic have to die when I said something

right now CrashMan, head of The wiki is trying to pull everyone interested together. I am so close to extracting the .bin files I know it. Once done I can work with some others on the homebrew app. We are still not sure if they are coded in C++ (although they probably are).

"The wiki"? Is this the same CashMan that wrote DepanBrew, the cutting-edge Wii tool? You kids have fun, now.

I did in fact extract WW:S, but it corrupted. It seems that it was the same lines of code:

Several thousand times. Nintendo is smart this time, their stuff is not encrypted the same as it used to be. (Like we didn't see that coming)

Just curious, why don't you join the project bushing

I think that you'd be a great help, you have just the experience we need

Plus I hear that you like a challenge, and I'd say that this is a challenge if I'd ever seen one

Bushing I have a sort-of intelligent question. According to your "Keys Keys Keys" post on hackmii. the SD-keys could be found in the system menu. Do you think they're in the dsi's firmware/system-menu also?

acually I'll let anybody ansewr that

I hope someone's writing a long post...

They learned from their mistakes, of course.

when I said that, I meant nintendo's not the brightest company. and also they need the keys to be in the system menu or otherwise it cant encrypt the channels when they're sent to the sd card. so I sort of answered my own question.

Did Yasu actually make it run in DSi mode, or DS mode? I"m asking cause when I watched his video, it looked like he was coming from the game portion. He definitely ended up on it by the looks of it, but he may have moved the channels around. Can anyone confirm if it was DSi mode or DS mode?

From what I understand, sd-keys is just an encrypting program that encrypts files whenever they are transferred to the to the sd card, bur from what I can tell, with dsiware, it instead leaves 1 or more key files in the system memory that the dsiware needs to be able to run. I'm guessing they do this so that you can't just copy your dsigames to somebody else' memory stick.

If I had to guess, I'd say that the data transferred to the sd card is the actual game data while the data left in the system memory is generic memory that let's the dsiware run, or something similar to it.

By the way, does anybody know if copying dsiware to the sd card then back to the dsi without modifying still allows you to play it, or does overwriting it (even with unedited data) render it unusable

Well, if the dsi where to brick, then we'd need access to the system the system memory to overwrite the firmware. So, until we get our own firmware and our own way of putting it on the dsi without having to actually access the firmware, kind of like the padora battery for the psp

Until then though, we have to be careful

If a DSi were to brick it might be possible to fix by Formatting the system memory depending on how it formats the system.

If it gets bricked how are you supposed to get to the option to format the memory?

If DS games ran in DSi mode, would games like Metroid not lag when a lot of things are going on at once?
