Hello all!

I was wondering which DS games have a "Save Anywhere" feature. I do a lot of travelling via public transport (don't we all with these fuel prices!) and I would like to put together some games on my Acekard 2 which I can play, but save at any point in time.

Before all Cyclo DS users start recommending I get their card, I am very happy with the Acekard 2 and even though Cyclo DS RTS would be the easy (albeit costly) solution, I believe that one day, one of the brilliant Acekard 2 developers will finally figure out how to do RTS on the AK2! Bliss?
So I am appealing to the rest of you who have cards without RTS who know of some kick @rse games which allow saving anywhere, to post their favourites!

Can I suggest the far less costly approach of closing the lid, the battery will last for hours that way.

As for games the only ones I can think of right now are for the GBA (mainly as that is what I am playing again for some reason).
Failing that some puzzle games are good here as they do not exactly require a time commitment.

Final Fantasy 3 and the Castlevanias both have suspend modes. Pretty sure advance wars and front mission have it too. I'm sure there are lots of others.

As for closing the lid, that's not so good for flash cart users. Flash carts don't fully support sleep mode, and you will find that it drains the battery in around 10 or so hours.

M3 Real with nothing in slot 2 lasts 6 hours on full brightness on my DS (looping mario brothers intro video). AK2 with nothing in slot 2 lasts 4.5 hours. So in light of those figures, 10 hours sleep mode isn't that great.

I agree that closing the lid is not really an option. Flash cards treat sleep mode differently to actual game carts. Flash cards need to keep the game in flash memory, thus the cpu and clock are still running at full speed. It's only the screens which are switched off that are reducing battery drain.

In pokemon Diamond and Pearl you can save pretty much wherever you are (except if you're in the middle of a battle) and when you next load the game it will start you off in exactly the same place you were standing when you saved it

Picross DS has real-time save at any point. So do most strategy-RPG type games, like Luminous Arc and Drone Tactics.
