Use? Games
Price Range? Preferably under $50 USD not including microSD card, if there is a flash cart exponentially better at $60-$80 then recommend
Slot 1/2? 1
Built in or expandable memory? expandable, by SDHC
Special features? Wifi Capable
Any flashcarts you are looking at in particular Not really, M3 Real was my first thought as I have had nothing but good things about my M3 slot 2
Other? I don't know if any Slot-1's dont but I want one that will not stick out of the system like my current M3 slot 2 device does.

For all slot-1's (ignore if you want a slot-2):
Support slot-2 GBA? I'd like to still be able to use my M3 slot-2 as a dedicated GBA player without carrying around a passcard so if this is what this means yes
Support slot-2 rumble packs? Bonus but not necessary
Support slot-2 RAM (web browser)? Bonus but not necessary

My recommendation is Acekard 2, EDGE, DSTT, or SCDS1 SDHC. THey're all under 40 dollars, and should work fine with a Slot 2 device. You can purchase them at DealExtreme.

But if you want to spend big, then go for the CycloDS. It's one of the best flashkarts available, but it's expensive.

Lastly, all of the flashkarts should have wifi capablilties, so there's no need to worry about that.

Price Range?$65 USD
Slot 1/2?1
Built in or expandable memory?Expandable, please
Special features? Download Play, Wifi capable, cheats, simple gui,
Any flashcarts you are looking at in particularCyclo DS Evo
Other? I have a DS phat and am willing to mod the card to fit my machine.

For all slot-1's (ignore if you want a slot-2):
Support slot-2 GBA?Yes
Support slot-2 rumble packs?Not necessary,
Support slot-2 RAM (web browser)? Yes, if possible.

For slot-2's (ignore if you want a slot-1): expansion pack or its own memory?
Get the Cyclo. And you don't need to modify it or anything to fit the Phat, all slot 1's fit, it's just the slot 2 that is different.

Use? GBA games on DS Lite
Price Range? ~$25
Slot 1/2? Does not matter, although I think GBA cards are all Slot 2?
Built in or expandable memory? Expandable, if possible.
Special features? Not necessary. Must have save support and support most GBA games.
Any flashcarts you are looking at in particular: No.
Other? Since this is for my younger nephew, who already has a Supercard Lite for DS games, I would like a solution that doesn't require much technical know how or patching. Something I can set-up and they could switch games out on easily.

At $25, I don't think what you want is possible. If it was up to me, I'd probably get a specialized GBA flash cart, something like the ELink, which would go to $25, but I don't think it is what you'd expect. It can fit perhaps 10 games tops, usually 4. Nothing like the Supercard Lite at all.

Does the Supercard Lite not fit your GBA needs, because it is a decent GBA player.

If you had a better budget, say $60, it might be a much wiser decision to upgrade your Supercard Lite into a Supercard DS ONE and an EZ Flash 3 in 1. With a Supercard DS ONE, DS games would be much easier to insert into, and the EZ Flash 3 in 1 is decent for playing GBA games, not to mention that pairing up a Supercard DS ONE with a Supercard Lite would make for a killer combo.

He has a Supercard Lite Rumble, the one that handles DS games but does not have the GBA function. So I just want a card that he can dedicate just to playing GBA titles, preferably something that can stand alone without the need for anything in Slot 1.

So is the EZ Flash 3 in 1 capable of doing this? I ask because I always see it mentioned as an add-on to slot 1 cards, but I wouldn't be using in conjunction with one.

Thanks.

If it will be used standalone without a slot-1 device, the 3in1 would be a bad choice. Better standalone options would be the EZ-Flash IV Deluxe and M3 Perfect, though they are somewhat pricey.

yea
carts that need to be flashed from the slot 1 (these carts dont include any memory to store roms on)
so they cant be used standalone

I suggest you you get a good slot 2 instead (or bundle pak or cart with 3in1)
cause the price your gonna pay for a good slot 1, you can get both a slot 1 and 2 for less

Should I get the Acekard2 or DSTT? I heard there is quality problem with DSTT and it tend to break fast. Is that true. I'm looking for something cheap to play backup games and easy to use. thanks.

Mine is DSTT perfect which like the m3 ds real perfect , has rumble pack and GBA expansion pack.

But now , only have dstt onsale ,no dstt perfect in the market.
You can buy m3 ds real perfect or r4ds+ez-flash 3in1 expansion combo instead.
Rumble , DS brower, GAB game will give you more fun.

Use? Games (GBA/DS), Homebrew, Text, Misc.
Price Range? Doesn't really matter
Slot 1/2? Both? Slot 1 for sure, but probably will get slot 2 as well.
Built in or expandable memory? Expanded most likely
Special features? To be honest, I don't know. Whatever I can get I guess.
Any flashcarts you are looking at in particular I've been looking at R4 and M3, but I've only started doing research.
Other? I'd like to develop homebrew games for the DS, I'm currently in college to be a game programmer, but I've only started doing research on this topic as I just bought a DS lite a week ago. If there is a card that is better for this purpose or other hardware/software I might need, please let me know.

For all slot-1's (ignore if you want a slot-2):
Support slot-2 GBA? Probably getting slot-2 as an extra, but wouldn't hurt to have support.
Support slot-2 rumble packs? I don't care for a rumble pack really.
Support slot-2 RAM (web browser)? From what I understand, this is helpful for games like Quake 2 or web browsing? If so, then Yes.

Thanks for the help, I'd appreciate if anyone could also direct me to anything else I would need for my answer to "Other". Thanks

CycloDS/SCDS1 all the way. The SuperCard has RTS and so does Cyclo, but the Cyclo has an enhanced menu that can let you go slow motion and change backlight settings. Also bringing up this menu has soft reset. And I think Cyclo can soft reset from homebrew, I haven't really checked although I think they can. Also SCDS1 is a good choice; both are nice carts.
