So I bought one chip for my switch lite about 3 weeks ago and installed it. I loved it so I wanted to get one for my wife’s switch, however when I checked AliExpress they are ALL GONE! I only see 1 listing available and it says unable to deliver to your address. I’m thinking this is due to the recent tariffs between China and USA.
That being said is there another place where I can purchase one? Really bummed out that in the span of a few weeks they all suddenly disappeared.

You could go for a waveshare rp2040, some resistors and a mosfet like we did in the beginning.
They are also still sold on eBay.

Yes I did see some on eBay but these look different than the one I have already. I have the version that has the yellow ribbon flex cable and the ones on eBay seem hard to solder and install. I may have to just go for it.

no you don't even need that anymore. My switch oled is modded using a RP2040 Tiny. No need for any resistance or mosfet messing around. Just wire it up (I did use a flex cable from aliexpress).

by the way, I have a few rp2040-tiny (with the extra plugable usb-c connector) and flex cables (switch OLED) lying around. I bought several back in 2023 when i modded my switch. If anybody's interested.

the newer ones are easier to install. i couldn't find any on aliexpress either, but you can get them on ebay still.

Are they “newer” ones? I’m not exactly an expert on this and I was led to believe that these were clones rather than newer versions of Picofly and Hwfly mod chips.

sunny liu should be able to source them on aliexpress. I myself purchased a whole bunch of spares in case they get discontinued lol
Man I should have done the same lol

shit, now that you mention it lol i'm not sure. i guess i considered them newer because i hadn't seen them before. who knows. the one w the flex is easier to install. you can just snap the emmc into the picofly. there's still soldering, just not as much.

So you installed a variant of a RP2040 and also used a flex cable? What diagram did you use for this? I might just hold off on the mosfet install if the flex cable turns out to be better.

Eh I’ll just go for it and see how it turns out. Hopefully it’s a breeze!
