It is recommended to keep your console as low as possible to have access to better jailbreak stability and features. Stay as low as possible within the "Golden" firmware brackets that apply to your current firmware.

Current Examples:

2.00 could be updated to 2.50 maximum to retain Webkit/BD-JB/LUA HV + KEX + HEN.
4.00 could be updated to 4.51 maximum for WebKit/BD-JB/LUA + KEX + HEN + potential HV exploits.
5.00 could be updated to 5.50 maximum for WebKit/BD-JB/LUA + KEX + HEN.
6.XX-7.XX could be updated to 7.61 maximum for HEN using only BD-JB or LUA.
Digital/Pro users on 6.XX-LATEST cannot use BDJB or LUA without an activated console. Wekbit does not go beyond 5.50 for now.
Digital/Pro users or Disc console users on 8.XX-LATEST should consider waiting or selling/swapping consoles to get a lower firmware.

    Burn ISO to a blank BD-R or BD-RE, put it into your console, and click on the [DISC PLAYER] icon.
    Highlight [PIPELINE RUNNER] then click option 2 [Normaljailbreak-etaHEN-UMTX1.pipe] to auto load etaHEN ready for ItemzFlow.
    Debug settings will be loaded, and the package installer can be found under [SETTINGS] > [DEBUG SETTINGS].
    ELF Loader will be running on your PS5 IP: port 9021


  3. Important:
    Up to 10.01 has a kernel exploit + HEN
    11.XX-12.70 has a kernel exploit but no HEN yet.
    LUA entry point works on the latest OFW, but there is no kernel or HEN yet.
    (A compatible PS4 game is required to launch the exploit on PS5. See below)

    Your PS5 console must be activated to use save copying for PS4 games.

    1. Insert your game disc and, as soon as possible, make a save file within it.
    2. Copy the save files to USB, go to [SETTINGS] > [STORAGE] > [CONSOLE STORAGE] > [SAVE DATA] > [PS4 GAMES] > select the game save and copy to a USB drive.
    3. On PC, using a Google Drive account, make a new folder with the GAME ID of your game, and upload the savedata & savedata.bin files to that folder.
    4. Share the folder, set it to editor mode, share with anyone, and click "copy the link".
    5. Join the HTOS Discord group: HERE type "/decrypt", select "FALSE" for including SCE_SYS, paste or type in the Google Drive link, and press enter. The bot should begin mounting your save. (If it doesn't, paste in the link again.)
    6. Click "ENCRYPTED" to remove the Sony PFS layer. Download the generated files and extract the folder to your desktop (you should have 4 files in there and be named dec_savedata_CUSA[GAME ID]).
    7. Using REMOTE LUA LOADER, open the savedata folder, copy the 20 files within into your encrypted save folder on your desktop.
    8. Upload the encrypted save folder (now with 24 files in) to your Google Drive. It should be named "dec_savedata_CUSA[GAME ID]" where GAME ID is your games 5 digit number, and set it to editor mode, share with anyone, and then click "copy the link".
    9. Go back to the HTOS discord server, and type "/encrypt", hit "FALSE" for uploading individually, and "FALSE" to include SCE_SYS. Finally, hit shared_gd_link and paste in your link to the original save (4 files) folder. (If it doesn't, paste in the link again.)
    10. When this is done, paste the link to the decrypted save (24 files) folder, and the bot will encrypt the files.
    11. Resign the files by typing "/resign" followed by your account name on the console, or PSN ID associated with that account if using the latest OFW.
    12. Download the resigned files, extract the files to your USB drive and overwrite them into the savedata folder on your USB or external drive.
    13. Copy the saves back to your console [SETTINGS] > [SAVE DATA AND GAME/APP SETTINGS] > [SAVE DATA PS4] > [COPY OR DELETE FROM USB] > [COPY TO CONSOLE STORAGE] > select your game save folder from the USB drive and copy/overwrite old save data.
    14. Load LUA game again, and you should see the LUA LOADER screen.
    15. You can use "SEND_LUA.PY" to send the UMTX files to the loader.
    (NOTE: Some games require manual loading of save game)

    On firmware up to 7.61, you can now load UMTX/2 followed by etaHEN by sending the files to your console IP on PORT 9026.
    On firmware 8.00-LATEST, you can connect with the REMOTE LUA LOADER APP to send debug notifications or FTP on port 1337.

You can install free/demo PKGS (legit pkgs) via the debug pkg installer, provided you have all the files/json/licences required.
(Astro’s Playroom has no licences and can be installed and played from official pkgs and updated inline with your firmware)

Warnings:


1: Never enable IDU mode.
If you do, you will need to enter staff mode by holding L1 + L2 and tapping this combo: circle, cross, square, triangle, right D-Pad. Release L1 + L2, and you can access settings to exit IDU.

2: Try to stay on the lowest FW possible and wait for hacks on that firmware.

3: PS5 FPKGs do not work. A hack for the A53 processor does not publicly exist to enable installing PS5 content as FPKG/PKG.

4: Installing legit game PKGs you do not own will never work, even if spoofed.

5: If you get stuck in a boot loop at the PS logo, the SNVS is corrupted (if the hash check fails on boot, this causes a “soft brick”). It’s not “bricked”. Simply reinstall your current firmware RECOVERY PUP in safe mode from USB: PS5 > UPDATE > PS5UPDATE.PUP.

I personally take the ps5 stuff with a grain of salt and I prefer not to expect anything.. we've been teased many times and something completely different came... as an example I'll write how once on the ps4 scene there was talk about the arrival of CFW and in the end it was a mira, but the author called it CFW... I don't have to say that the community was disappointed... then someone else talked about the ultimate sharing method for games, in the end it wasn't what people expected... and here it may be the same, some say it will be useful for ps5 users but that's so inaccurate and uncertain.... when we think about it, even shit is useful for some people (shit serves as fertilizer for plants :D ) but for others it's not very useful... that's why I just prefer not to expect much :)
I personally am happy about any news but I take everything with a grain of salt.

Anyone on 2.xx having issues with the new ps5 hen crashing when attempting to load, I have discovered that it needs to have the rest mode part of the jailbreak to be loaded first. After reboot, sending the payload works. Zecco host has the new hen. So for the step by step notation
Step 1: activate initial kernel exploit
Step 2: send etahen payload once, rest mode
Step 3: wake ps5 and send ps5 hen payload.
 
Anyone managed to play ghost of yotei off shadowmount? I create the .exfat image with the backport files included and I keep getting the error "missing / invalid param.json"

I've checked before building my exfat image, param.json was present in the following path : "PPSAXXX\sce_sys\param.json" Which is supposed to be the correct path

Any ideas?

Okay, so just tried the exFAT version that was uploaded to that site. It recognizes, it loads up, but just before it can boot the game…..crashes. Five times I tried booting and five times it gave me that error. So again. Dunno what’s wrong with it. It even claims to be back ported to 11.00. Gonna try FFPKG on the internal but that’s honestly the only thing left to try. I have it legit on my Pro so it’s no big loss. Still sucks to have three different rips of it not work on the slim. So now, wondering if it’s an issue with the rips themselves or ShadowMountPlus. Don’t want to risk VoidShell 3.0 as it’s a beta and my drive is unpatched without Star Wars.

I downloaded the dump folder files as soon as it was posted on that site. Then I waited some days until backpork was available, applied it, tested it, converted it to an .exfat image and tested it again. Working perfectly.

Maybe that's the thing. You're on 9.60 while I'm on 11.60, so maybe it's different how 10.20-12.00 are handled? Using kstuff lite 1.3. FTP'ing a FFPKG to my internal drive now and see how I do on that.

I've seen people confirm it working on 12.xx and 11.xx when there was no backpork available yet.

I think it's worth a try on drakmor's kstuff lite 1.1-dr and shadowmount plus 1.6test8fix1.
 
So I just started the FFPKG on internal and I get an error after booting "Unable to launch missing base entitlement. Please contact Playstation Support".

It will not work for me. I'm on 11.60. That kstuff of yours is only for 10.01 and below.

Something tells me Sony got to him. VoidShell links have been completely removed from Ko-Fi. Meanwhile, he was just tossing around stuff not even 24 hours ago.

Maybe that's the real reason he had them as timed releases. Now Voidshell is gonna expire and be useless.
I imagine these homebrew have more complicated date tracking that prevents winding back the ps5 clock from being a good work around, or does that actually work?

Never used it, so I wouldn't know. I don't like time bombs in things that I use. Learned that lesson from the Gateway 3DS days. As soon as I saw that, went right to MT-Card and then CFW.
 
Something tells me Gezine and Void will not be the only devs suddlenly retiring.... something fishy is happening... All those people who have spent $10 on the digital SWRR will be thinking why did we waste that money... Those who have the SWRR disc will probably see it's value rise and rise and be able to demand silly $ for it.. And those "scalpers" who for some reason manged to acquire and sell dozens of copies are laughing all the way to the bank... The latetr is almost similar to Insider Trading!

Anyway, the nature of the scene is such that others will come up with new ways to exploit the console.... it's just a matter of time... this is where Agentic AI will come into it's own as it's just a matter of time fellas!

100% this probably is the likely cause... I would also say the same may apply to other devs who suddenly leave the scene...

Nintendo is famous for doing it, now Sony is too. As much as I call people out and things, maybe Sony or Nintendo SHOULD hire them. They would have a stable career, maybe get a better life for themselves without having to clout chase for approval from strangers.

But none of that surprises me. I saw it coming for the longest time. Glad people are finally getting with the program. Just wish there weren’t so many people still worshipping and kissing their ass just because they want something. Because they’re so fucking impatient that they elevate the worst people.

So they brought some things forward. But someone would’ve released this stuff eventually, and for FREE. Without looking for $10,000 or Ko-Fi donations. Just because it’s the right thing to do. It always happens. The scene is a never ending cycle that’s bigger than the people in it. Always has been, and always will be.

Been there, seen it, done it, we’re still here. The players will change but the scene remains.

That’s been my point all along. Enough with this hero worship. Let them go.

Not yet it can't.... current processing power to allow complete autonomus thinking is still probably a decade or two away... only until quantum computing becomes a reality and processors can shrink will the world radically change... Imagine it though, having an AI model that is so powerful it can circumvent security protocols, hack and rewrite algorithims? That would be the ultimate zero day tool. Does something like that already exist? Who knows... Interesting fact as of 2026 nearly 50% of code is now being AI generated... think about that...

This AI bubble is going to burst. We live in a world that should’ve been forward a million times yet plays by the rules of a 2,000 year old fairy tale book. We could’ve had cures for diseases, flying cars, teleportation, maybe even time travel. Cloning to help people who can’t conceive have children of their own. But so many things are “against God” so any major advances are squashed or squeezed for so much profit, that normal people can’t use it.

It’s not Kernel, not HV, not FPKG: but it’s definitely useful for PS5 owners.
