I have a few GBA SPs, an OG GBA with a nice IPS screen, and a consolised GBA that outputs at a really nice 720p. Also got an Analogue Pocket if that counts.

I still tend to emulate GBA games for things like easy access to speed up, but I do enjoy the OG hardware.

I've got a GBA Silver colored, it was brand new when I got it, but it had better times, now it barely works, but still enjoy playing it.

I've always wanted one of those so-called "double-light" SP's, but haven't had the $hance to get one.

Two of 'em – a regular, and an SP. Had to open both of them up to clean out the power switch. So bothersome.

I got the regular one mostly because it was dirt cheap and I heard it was the ideal way to play games on the Game Boy Player. (Why the heck isn't there a cheap knockoff of the digital Hori pad!? I guess you can get one of those raphnet adapters, but even those are still a little expensive.)

I went through a lot of trouble trying to find a splitter for the SP that would let me simultaneously plug in a power adapter and a pair of headphones before I finally figured out the power switch thing.

Of course I hardly touch either of them now. Who plays games anymore?

I had a Black GBA back in 2005. Someone stole it when I took it to school.

I then had a Clear Pink GBA couple months later. Had to sell it alongside many games (Zelda Oracle of Seasons, Bomberman Max Red, MegaMan 3, Mario Golf, a 16-in-1 GB cartridge, Super Mario Advance 4, Mario Pinball Land, KOF Howling Blood, SSX3, Medal of Honor Underground).

Then I found a White GBA in 2014 or so, it didn't worked, recently threw it away.

RetroArch-Wii is my way to play GBA.

Used to own an SP, loved it. But sold it back then to get a DS Lite (which I still own in working condition). Never knew anyone else who had one, so no cable link loss for me, although I do miss the format, can't bother to spend $100+ in getting something else, when there are better options (ds lite or 3DS for me).

At this stage of my life I only have Gameboy color

What about you guys?

If I want to play GBA I use an emulator

At "this stage of your life", you've only got a Gameboy color??? You've GOTTA be, what, 7, 8 years old?

No offense dude, but you gotta branch out and get AT THE VERY MINIMUM a home gaming console, because if you only have a Gameboy color, you're missing out on all the fun!

I had a OG GB (gray brick), GB micro, GBA SP, GBA advance x2, a DS phat etc

Family home was lost for various reasons so anything I have I went back and bought later or got as a gift

Sucks when a hand-held gaming unit dies. I think we can both agree on that...

Never. But playing GBA games on DS was native, not emulated. I only just modded my 3DS, I think that's technically still native (open_agb_firm) rather than emulation. On Wii, it's emulation.

I mention this because this thread made me think it's curious how frequently hardware-enabled GBA game support is, preempting the need for emulation.

Oh and by the way, I own a GBA. I've not touched it since I discovered touching myself, but I still own it.

Additionally, I use "mGBA" on my PS VITA to emulate most GBA games that I have, own or never got to play...

I have plans to finish the rest of the Metroid Series, and originally I was going to play NESTroid as it's the first one but it's too hard.

(Damn I meant to say being with my family instead of just having one)
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@DragonMals, Zero Mission is a remake of nestroid so atleast you might be familiar with the map layout or idk
  • DragonMals @ DragonMals:
You might be right with that one, but NESTroid's layout is a lot different in structure than Zero Mission. Not to mention the engnie being abysmal to play as.
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@DragonMals, ohkay... Also after beating Zero Mission I might play am2r (I'd play the 3ds metroid 2 remake but my 3ds is broken although I will try to repair it when I get the chance)
