What even is GTA6's marketing strategy?

Seriously, what even is GTA6's marketing strategy? Are they expect shit like this to create hype?
I forgot to add, the thread is just my opinions and thoughts.

Isn't the whole point of owning a console because games are expected to work? They might sometimes run at a lower FPS but this is just poor marketing.

And then just pure mask off, they are hoping you buy it twice because it's shit on consoles but they are still hoping for FOMO and you buy it on consoles before buying it again in a year

Seriously, is anyone hyped for this? This is the slimiest they've ever been

GTA6 rumours have been spreading after the release of GTA5, I can say that when I first saw them appear all over YouTube. I guess you can compare it to Smash Brothers when it released for the Switch, everybody wanted to relive their childhood, or just a new player wanting to endure a new experience.

Yeah but these have been the more recent ones to be coming out and they are painting a pretty terrible image of the game. Mask on, they are telling us the game is likely to run like shit on the current systems. Mask off, it runs like shit because they are hoping for double dipping

I understand that you're so frustrated about the shear massive publicity around it. If you don't enjoy the trailer or what's been popping up as of late, then don't buy it or read the articles. That's entirely your opinion, and I will respect that.

Unless the leaks are confirmed I wouldn't put too much stock into them. Performance in any title is usually the last thing that gets improved, mostly because all the debug stuff is important for 99.9% of the development process, and disabling and enabling it all the time is silly for new test builds.

Also Rockstar has long followed the motto that no PR is bad PR. People talk about it and that's basically all that matters to them.

This is true. I think there were three trailers for San Andreas, and that's all anyone needed. It's interesting because I feel like V didn't get the same universal praise that even IV got. I still haven't played V, so I can't confirm if it's good or not, but I've heard mixed things (and wholly negative for GTA Online).

Isn't GTA VI supposed to be more money than even a standard release? Like, closer to $100 USD? You would think that'd require more coaxing, but the hype that GTA3 began building over 20 years ago seems to be enough.

You seem to misunderstand me. I am simply stating that a sequel to a game that is the sequel to one of the highest selling games of all time will be hyped even if they dont market it. But on a more serious note they are one to just wait until closer to release. Not a great idea to literally throw trailers out years before release.

I should not this thread is entirely my opinion based on what I am seeing. I simply don't understand this kind of marketing. I've seen it before and it leaves me wondering who enjoys this? This thread is legit me being confused by people and articles.
