hey there, i'm new here and was interested in requesting a cheat code for a 3DS game. the section of the site about cheat requests brought me to a group about nintendo switch cheats specifically. i was wondering if that was the place to do it, or if asking in there would be against the rules? and if so, is there a place i should go specifically, or can i just ask in the 3DS forum? i would really appreciate it, thank you!

There was a thread for Gateway cheats here but for some reason it's locked now. A shame because I've also been looking for some Bravely Second cheats as well

Here is big collection of cheats

Possible to dl cheats using Checkpoint, or if it not finding cheat file - manually dl & put file inside sd folder /cheats
unfortunately i checked there already, the game i want isn't on there. i was looking to see if anyone was open to requests for cheat codes, since i tried to do the process myself and it seems like i don't have the patience to figure it out. thank you for the recommendation, though!

Which game? What cheats? And can you supply a save file for the game that is part way through?

Some games, like RPG's, I find insanely boring, they're just slow. However, with a save file part way through I could skip the initial setup of the party and the base garbage that comes along with RPG's.

the ace attorney trilogy remaster for the 3DS! (TID: 0004000000138F00)

i was hoping for infinite health, the ability to unlock chapters without playing them first, and maybe the choice to turn off the flashing effects for comfort's sake? all stuff that's been done for the original NDS games lol

(the same for the 3DS version of aa4: apollo justice (TID: 00040000001BD200) would be cool too, but one thing at a time ofc :P)

these save files are from another post on here (titled "Ace Attorney Trilogy Save Request,") but since i'm a new user i can't link to it yet :/ they're for a game that's 100% complete i believe

no pressure of course, but i would be really excited if you could do this!

Thanks for linking the Title ID's. I hunted around and found it on hShop, but yeah... Portuguese.. oh boy.
Do you have a link to the NDS cheats ? I'm curious about the flashing and unlock levels. They're both what I would call "non standard" cheats.

Flashing may not be too hard, but it depends. I've not played an Ace Attorney game for many years (they're not my thing). Old GBA games would turn the sprite off and on rapidly, usually by switching between 1 and 0 and setting a countdown (or up) to flash it a set number of times. This may be similar in that you search for a 1 or 0 or a variable that counts from xx to 0. I won't know until I play the game.

Accessing levels is likely to be much harder. Again, it might be something simple in that access to levels is via a basic 1/0 flag. As you unlock levels a memory location is changed from 0 (locked) to 1 (unlocked), however, how do you search for this when the memory location is only ever changed once?

Let me have a look at the game in the meantime, and I'll let you know what I find.

I presume the cheats will be required for each of the 3 games in the trilogy?

Edit: You're going to have to explain how this game works. I'm following a walkthrough because it's not my type of game. Where is health? And when does it show? What flashing are you talking about? I've just finished the intro court case and ... Yeah, I'm confused. Does help the game isn't in English. :)

wow, thanks so much!!! and yeah, i think just for utility's sake that would probably be the best way to do it, having like an individual cheat for each game :/ maybe it would be useful to compare code from a fresh save to the completed one?

as for the cheats from the NDS games, i'm not really sure; i accessed those through the usrcheat.dat file and i'm not sure how i'd get info back out of that.

honestly if you find out anything i asked for is too hard then i really won't be offended. i'm just happy that anyone answered at all lol, and at least i'll probably know why the cheats hadn't been made before to begin with :P kinda hard to dig around in visual novel code with tools designed to poke around at numbers

edit: oh wait jeez i should probably elaborate on the flashing one - that one was never done for the NDS games. i just realized the way i typed it out implied that it did, it's just something that's on my wishlist. that was my mistake!

I'm not going to lie, playing a game I don't like in a language I don't understand isn't very fun. Nevertheless, from what I've read, you're after unlimited objections, not health... Although I can appreciate the mixup. I can only guess you get as many as you'd like in the first trial, which I just rushed through.

I found the NDS cheats online, and amusingly the unlock episodes cheat is a single counter with the memory location set next to the objections. Max value is 0x50 with 5 episodes available, I can only guess that each episode at 0x10 to the location....

I am confused though, at which trial does the number of objections become known? I don't see anything in the walkthroughs.

okay so, i fear i may have directed you to the wrong version on accident? i thought i linked the code for the north american version, i don't know where portuguese came from. did you get it from the page with the url /t/2182?

also by "health" i mean the penalties you get for answering a question incorrectly in court/during a magatama questioning, usually with the wrong evidence. if your meter runs out your client gets automatically declared guilty and you have to reload from a previous save. a meter will pop up showing you how many tries you have left. i'm sorry i didn't elaborate on that before, i wasn't sure how to word it properly

Just to help you with English, things are done "on purpose" or "by accident". "On accident" isn't a thing, it's grammatically incorrect. You'll see Americans use it a lot, but they have the educational system of a preschool.

You posted earlier the Title ID: 0004000000138F00
This corresponds to the Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy (Brazilian Portuguese Translation)

Is this not correct?
Ha ha ha, have I spent the last hour or so with my phone translating the onscreen text for no reason? :hateit::rofl2:

Which version of the game am I supposed to be playing?

that is really really weird, that's what the hshop page for the north american release says. check the page here if you don't believe me. i also just cross referenced 3dsdb.com and it says the same thing?

promise i didn't just send you on a wild goose chase for no reason

1717147060062.png

edit: there is actually no official brazilian-portuguese release of ace attorney, you most likely just found a fan translation on hshop somehow?

edit 2: yep, when you punch in the code i pasted into the search bar you get this. it has the same code because more than likely it's just a patched version of the original rom

Ha ha ha, that one is on me :)
I'm in Australia, so our games are the European versions, so hShop for me defaults to turning off the North American versions of the game in the search. So the only title that came up with that Title ID was the Brazilian translation. It has the same Title ID, so that's what I installed. Far out :)

Ok, I have the correct version installed and I'll go through these over the next day or so. I'd hazard a guess each of the games will have their own set of cheats, so I'll need to play through some of the games to find and test them.

In regards to the flashing, when does that happen?

all good!! i figured something weird was happening :P

the flashing is a visual effect that happens in dramatic points of the game. it happens somewhat often so you should have no problem finding examples of it as you go through it. thanks again for the help!!

i'm gonna head to bed now, i'll check back in tomorrow if i can!

Try this one. It was used / tested on Episode 2: Turnabout Sisters from the first game in the trilogy:

[++Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney++]
[Infinite Objections]
D3000000 00000000
203B1AB3 00000005
D2000000 00000000
{Game may display 4 objections, this is normal. Count will not drop further.}

[Unlock All Chapters]
D3000000 00000000
203B1AB2 00000050
D2000000 00000000
[--]

Copy/paste into a file named:
0004000000138F00.txt and put it into the cheats folder on your SD card. Let me know if it works. I have an idea where the unlock location is for the rest of the levels.

The reason the counter drops is because the code will deduct 1 from the objection count and update 2 memory locations (actually 3 in this case): Actual stored location and screen display location. The screen isn't updated unless the decrement, increment or refresh routine is called it'll look like you have 4 all the time. If you press 'Start' then choose 'No' to saving you'll get your 5 objections showing again.

I tested the cheat multiple times on Episode 2 and I'll test it more tomorrow on another episode. And I'll keep looking for cheats.

Edit: Added All chapter cheat :toot:

sooo... this is an embarrassing question, but i seem to be having a lot of trouble getting checkpoint and therefore rosalina menu to read my new cheats :/ i've got the text files in the right places (i even tried the luma/titles/titid/cheats.txt approach,) and i tried deleting caches a couple times to see if that would get them to stick, but nothing seems to be working. it gives me the "there are no cheats available for this title" pop-up no matter what i do. i even tried this with a different game i WAS able to find on that big cheat database with the same results. am i maybe missing a step somewhere? :(

Uh..what?

You don't need Checkpoint, and whilst Rosalina menu is good, I don't like using it for cheats. The cheat implementation is a little flaky in my opinion. I've had cheats lock games up using Rosalina menu.

Grab the CTR Plugin Framework from here. You want the .3gx file on the release page.
Turn off your 3DS and eject the SD card.
Put the SD card in your computer.
Copy the plugin to SD:\luma\plugins\ Creating any folders you don't have.
Rename the plugin to "default.3gx".
Create a folder "cheats" on the root of the SD card. It should look like sd:\cheats\.
In the cheats folder create a new file called 0004000000138F00.txt
Open the blank text file and copy/paste the cheats into that. Save and exit.
Eject SD card and insert it into your 3DS.
Turn on 3DS and bring up Rosalina menu [L]+[Down]+[Select] Then make sure Plugin Loader is enabled. Press B to exit Rosalina menu.
Load Phoenix Wright, the screen should flash blue and Plugin Ready! should appear in the lower right hand corner.
Press Select and the Action Replay menu will pop up. This is the default plugin you copied earlier.
Select Action Replay (tap the screen) and you should see a folder, select the folder and enable the cheats by pressing A and using the D-Pad to scroll through them.
Press Select to exit the Action Replay plugin.
Done.

Disable the cheats before you quit. Just repeat the last few steps. Select to bring up the Action Replay menu, highlight the cheats and A to disable them. Failing to do so may lock the 3DS when you quit the game back to the 3DS home menu.

Edit: Here's the codes for the next game. Just copy/paste these into the same file as the previous cheats. Leave a single line space in between the cheats and they should show up in their own folder.

NOTE: The Unlock All Chapters cheats share the same memory locations, you should only enable one at a time. Otherwise you'll end up with extra blank little cards on the chapter select screen which may or may not crash the game.

well... NOW ctrpf decides to work  i turned to trying to use checkpoint for cheats because i did all these steps before and it didn't do a damn thing. i love when technology works exactly like how you expect it to every single time /s. thank you, either way!! i'll go on and try these cheats out now :D i can't express how cool it is that you stepped up to do this!

edit: IT WORKS!!!!!!!!! HOLY SHIT! i'm so excited right now, you don't even know 😭

Awesome, I'm glad you got it working.

The cheats for the last game are the exact same as the second game. The main difference is the unlock all chapters has increased to accommodate the extra chapter in this game.

Again, just copy/paste this into the same text file as the other cheats.

As per usual, don't enable cheats for multiple games at the same time, it may crash the game.

Now, the screen shake is likely to be impossible, at least for me. IF the screen shake is not an animation and is done in code, then by watching the code in a full debugger, it may be possible to patch it out. However, using the Action Replay plugin, there's not much hope at all. For one, it doesn't react fast enough and two, I wouldn't begin to know where to look or what to search for.

This game is so painfully slow. It has taken me the better part of a day to go through the first chapter of the final game in the trilogy, just to ensure the cheat works correctly. And that's with a walkthrough... and not reading any of the text, trying to skip through as fast as possible. I can imagine this chapter would normally take days to finish. :wtf:

i honestly expected as much, since im sure someone would have patched it out to begin with if it was that simple (man it can get overwhelming when you're not in the mood.) so don't sweat it :] thanks again for everything!! you rule!

edit: out of curiosity, would you be interested in sharing your cheats anywhere, like the cprf github page? fine if not, i just think it'd be cool

Finally got an appointment with an ENT, but it's not for another month. It's already been 4- days of loud ringing in my left ear, substantial pain on left side of my neck and left side on the back of my head. Doctors here at the regular clinic put me on a couple different meds for a month that did absolutely nothing, then they told me there's nothing more they can do for me despite being in pain and my ear sounding like im underwater and ringing.

Then three chiropractor appointments which also didn't help at all so i didn't go to the 4th. Been trying to get ahold of this ENT clinic out of town for a week and finally got an appointment set up. But its not til the 17th of July so I have to suffer all this shit for nearly another month.

I hope relief from all of this is on the way because I've felt so defeated and severaly lacking in sleep because of the pain and ringing.
