While the RG Cube has been announced, Anbernic has not revealed the price nor the availability of the device. However, considering the company's traditional approach, these details should be revealed within the coming weeks.

Didn’t they JUST release another system like last week?!
Ngl, this rapid release and announcement cycle completely burned me on ever buying one of these systems

To me there can be some positives for it if you as a buyer are well informed. Like if you want a retro handheld in a very specific form factor, there is a somewhat safe assumption that it will come. The really annoying part of that is that so many people will just grab something they think they kinda want, only to see the form factor they really wanted get announced the week after.

I do think that having the same hardware in like four form factors is neat (per the RG35XX series), but I wish they all released together so you could just make an informed decision.

Anbernic is shit. I don't believe PS2 emulation is going to be smooth.
I think it's the same CPU as with the RG556, and that is capable enough (albeit not perfect). There's an emulation portion in the review below that goes over it:

Yes but that one was $60. This one will be $200 minimum. Different market segment.

Much like phones, tablets, laptops, any piece of tech, there's no point in waiting for the "perfect" one because whatever you get, a slightly better model will be out in a week or two.

I struggle to get excited about any of the stuff that's out now when the snapdragon x is around the corner. We're going to have fifty new handhelds with that chip in it. Wait.
I get that the X is super powerful, but does it really do much that the 8 Gen 2 isn't currently capable of (since that's pretty much the golden boy of the high end Android handhelds at the moment)? Just seems like we're hitting a plateau of having things to actually put the power to use with Android.

I wonder if the NPU could be used for something which doesn't just taint the feature due to potential spyware? For example, on the fly texture scaling, on the fly translations, better bots for playing MP games offline, etc?

I get the logic, but it's becoming a bit much as a customer. It's hard to decide which is the best, and announcing a new one every week worsens the problem. Not to mention most of these all seem to have the same/similar hardware, which only adds more research to be done to figure out which one fits my needs. Making more work for the customer is a shit method when all of these are from the same company. Quite honestly, they've only convinced me to not buy their products because I don't know the difference, I don't care to learn the difference, and I also don't know what the support is going to look like but I am assuming it's shit with this many products being pushed out. They've done more to convince me to buy anything else than to convince me to buy their products.

So, there's a few problems with this.
The first problem is that you can't use dmca for that. That isn't what dmca is for. Dmca is for specifically and exclusively copyright. Selling a device that has some similarity to something someone else sells is not a copyright issue.
Second: Many devices have used the exact same color scheme for their buttons and nintendo doesn't care.
Third: while nintendo has a trademark on the super nintendo button layout, trademarks are far more specific than merely four general colors in an order. The buttons are not "substantially similar" enough for a trademark dispute.

Dude.... Why are they pumping these out like candy. Serious waste of the technology, there's a reason why system releases have year gaps and such, that way there is time to allow such systems to mature within their supported timeframe, as well as provide a glimpse on what the consumer space looks like, which helps shape up successor systems a bit, not to mention technological advancements that come over time, allowing for capabilities that make systems unique and or more interesting (not just hardware power, but what most consider to be "gimmicks" too).
