Can you boot into OFW at least? Do you have an unpatched v1 Switch?
exFAT is more prone to the data corruption, while FAT32 isn't as much. Why do you want to transfer large files? What kind of files?

If you're able to boot into OFW without issues and you haven't blanked your prodinfo in the past, you can probably start from scratch by following one of these guides: NH Switch guide and Rentry.org Switch guide.

Did you install your CFW to your sysNAND or emuNAND? Which firmware is your OFW on?

By no means I'm expert on resetting the console and starting from scratch, but as far as I know, restoring an older NAND backup should be safe only if you haven't connected to the Internet without blocking the Nintendo servers on the OFW after you've made your backup. If you did connect to the Internet and haven't blocked Nintendo servers, your sysNAND has made some permanent changes while connected to Nintendo's servers that are not present in your original NAND backup. In other words, Nintendo has something more in their logs about your Switch, while you do not, therefore causing a mismatch.

I'd advise you not to restore your NAND backup blindly unless you're 100% sure that you were offline and in airplane mode between the time you've hacked your console and now. If that's the case, restoring a NAND backup should be safe enoguh.

More often than not, you don't need to restore a backup if you've used emuNAND and effectively blocked Nintendo servers.

If you can boot into OFW, connect to the Internet and access eShop and other Nintendo services, your sysNAND should be fine and you can start from scratch on how to setup emuNAND by following one of the guides, NH Switch guide or Rentry.org Switch guide.

Once you set up your emuNAND, I'd advise that you set up 90DNS or DNS MITM at the very least. Prodinfo blanking on emuNAND probably won't do much since it's unknown whether that info is cached somewhere else on the system. DBI, for example, can guess your serial number through "creative coding" as they call it. You can see whether it's true or not by going into system info option once in DBI.

I have managed to get my switch sorted and now re installed games

Unfortunately my sd card is fat32 and my games are bigger . What is fastest way of transferring them over ?

Thanks

Probably not the fastest, but I'm using DBI to install my games. You can try enabling USB 3.0 speeds by setting usb30_force_enabled to u8!0x1 under system_settings.ini (some users reported that it didn't work for them, so try setting it to u8!0x0 instead if you're using DBI).

My guess the emuand is corrupted, probably have to rebuild.
It was actually the dat0 adapter having intermittent glitch issue and some how effect on the emummc files , Tfoil got all files updates but IDK why customer had bluescreen initially. I couldnt even go to hekate when I had the OLED device and modhchip flash orange error code when I received it. Checked dat0 reading is 0.9xx and go for a reseat with uv glue, reading back to 0.49x and emunand just boots:rofl2:

--------
Oh, and maybe because I deleted the exosphere.ini when I first checked SDcard contents, the exosphere has the blank__prodinfo actived on both sysnand and emunand. Maybe This is the blue screen cause.

Greeting !

Hey, I just got modded from second hand shop, and it have a lot of game.

(I don't know anything about modded switch.) After I uninstall some game I don't play with Tinfoil,

do I need to delete it's TICKET too ? if so what should I use to delete it ? DBI or Tinfoil ?

Thanks
If you uninstall the game from System Settings, that is sufficient. You don't need to delete its ticket.

We can't tell you where to acquire game updates & it's against the rules to even ask.

The cloud icon is because you either don't have the game actually installed or you don't have the correct sigpatches.

Installing via DBI is simple. Connect the Switch to your PC, start MTI Responder mode in DBI, then your Switch shows up on your PC. It's just dragging and dropping the files from one folder to another. It doesn't matter if theyre over 4GB as it's installing them, not transferring over the entire file at once.

hi team.. new to the modded switch scene been following the ps3 scene since the geohot days .. just got my oled switch modded and looking to see what the best CFW there is and what good apps are doing there rounds .. and whats safe and whats not about switching between firmwares ect thanks for the help
Well there is only one CFW left which is Atmosphere so there's not much thinking. Switching firmware versions is relatively safe as long as you delete your theme before doing so as those are made per firmware. In terms of good apps, it really depends on what you want to do as there are a lot of different options available. But you should always backup your eMMC via Hekate before proceeding further into Switch hacking.

"Invalid NCA Magic"

Hi I have an .xci file that I'm trying to install using DBI installer but when I click on the xci, DBI installer tells me; "Invalid NCA Magic"

What I can't understand is I've installed this same file on my other switch, using DBI installer and it installed without any issues whatsoever.

I've also noticed that when I drag and drop the file from my PC to the Switch, it transfers fine (5gb file takes about 9 minutes to transfer accross) but then when the progress bar gets close to completion, it slows down, then when the transfer finishes, I can't see the xci file on my SD card until I disconnect the Switch from the PC and then reconnect it.

I've tried renaming the file just in case the xci file name is too long but that not changed anything, still wont install. Also tried to install it using tinfoil and that also says "unknown NCA magic"

Have you tried using TinWoo Installer? Its what I personally use and never have any issues. You can download it from here.

thanks. I could try it, but I think the issue is before that step. To me the dragging and dropping the file from my PC to the SD card just doesn't feel right. Why does the SD card not see the game file once its been copied over? I've dragged a few more files over and it sees these files straight away. Yet when I drag this particular game over, its almost like its not copying the full file over. It hangs at "about 15 seconds remaining". Really frustrating! I moved exactly the same file yesterday onto my other switch which has exactly the same CFW on it. The only difference between the two is this one I'm having difficulty with has a larger capacity SD card

Also, with regards to Tinwoo, where does it need to go on the SD card?

Asking here because I have no idea how to do this. What's the easiest way I can alter paper Mario ttyd remake to unlock bobbery early? (Emulator-only ways are fine for me)

I used a cheatcode to unlock bombette early in pm64 when I played that and was hoping I could do something similar for ttyd.

For transferring files, are you using Atmosphere's USB File Transfer app (haze.nro)? If so, from my personal experience it works well enough for small files, but larger files are a bit tricky. Try with Hekate's USB Tools instead.

To me the dragging and dropping the file from my PC to the SD card just doesn't feel right. Why does the SD card not see the game file once its been copied over? I've dragged a few more files over and it sees these files straight away. Yet when I drag this particular game over, its almost like its not copying the full file over. It could be that the file got corrupted during process, therefore resulting in that error. I've never transferred files to the SD card in order to install them as I usually install my game by using dbibackend.exe when I connect my Switch to the PC. If you don't know how to do that, check this video.

If that didn't fix the issue, I'd suggest updating Hekate, Atmosphere and sigpatches to the latest on your problematic Switch. I don't know how you're booting into Atmosphere but since the version 1.7.0, Atmosphere no longer supports ips kip patches which are usually used for piracy reasons. Therefore sigpatches won't work unless you:
1) Load Atmosphere's package3 via Hekate's FSS0 - You'll need to reboot to Hekate, go to Launch and select emuNAND CFW or sysNAND CFW (depending on which one you use). If you've downloaded the sigpatches from here. your bootloader/hekate_ipl.bin will already have everything you need to have configured.
2) Use modified Atmosphere's fusee.bin payload with ips kip patches support.
3) Use sys-patch instead of sigpatches.

So today I started trying to mod my switch, I started with this tutorial: https://www.cfwaifu.com/switch-emunand/ and then moved on to this one: https://www.cfwaifu.com/atmosphere-tinfoil/ but since the resources were outdated I did get a later version of atmosphere, I think 7.0. But I tried to boot into it for the first time but it flashed a logo for a second and then showed a black screen, and at one time it rebooted to the Nintendo switch logo. I don't know what I've done wrong and why it won't boot into atmosphere

Hello guys. I have issue with my nintendo switch oled
My switch was hacked by the master (he said that there would be hwfly v4, but I see that there is an rp2040-zero chip (its picofly, i think?)) It had already broken before, but some wire just came off, another master soldered it and everything became OK.Now the stock firmware always starts, hacking does not startI have attached a video to the message, the orange LED lights up only once, with a long signal, which means USB flashing doneWhat can I try to do? What could be the problem?

It goes inside the /switch folder on your SD card.

If its an outdated version of Atmosphere and you are running a more recent firmware version, then its possible that whatever version of Atmosphere you downloaded doesn't support your current firmware. Download the latest Atmosphere from its respective GitHub page and try again.
