hey guys, one of my mates bought a modded japanese oled switch, for quiet a deal. but theres the problem of the systemlanguage. I know that you cang change the language in the internal switch seetings, but I dont think that this change will apply for hekate and the rest of homebrew. is there any way to fix this? any help is appreciated

Fix what? This is not a bug.

This is app specific thing. Since most homebrew are done for English speaking people, most homebrew developers don't even bother to implement support for other languages. Your only choice is to search for forks that are focused on translating homebrew to your specific language.

I would implement support for multiple languages in my homebrew if Nintendo would bother adding Polish language support in system. But since they don't care, I don't care.

but is there a way to swap to another language? I mean my mate like to have the englisch version, but struggles with overwriting (maybe special coded hekate files for that switch), like you would normaly do.

There are no irreversible mistakes when putting files on an SD card.
Just put a current, standard Hekate release on the card (after understanding how Switch homebrew works, of course) and be done with it.
Make a backup of the existing files just in case, that is enough. But I bet 99% of your problems are fixed by just replacing whatever chinese Hekate is on there with a current English release.

I do not really know how language in homebrew works. If it is really affected by the Switch system settings. Some might be, others won't. In the case of hekate I bet it's the files themselves and if you just update Hekate to latest release on github, it's English. If there are any doubts afterwards, just change system language to English and see what happens. This is by no means any language problem, it's a problem of the settings and/or the files.
