Yo-kai Watch 4 translation doesn't seem to be 'virtually dead' by the way :)
They didn't update their main thread with any new info for a long time. I don't care about other places, even if it comes from project manager itself. Project was mismanaged pretty badly and I need more than words to believe it's not dead.

Can you port english patch to warriors orochi 3 ultimate? It is only in Japanese on switch, under the name musou orochi 2 ultimate. Thanks in advance brother.

If you need more than words, that's fine. I just don't think it's very productive to tell everyone that it's 'virtually dead' when there's clearly still people who want that project to be complete - both the people working on it and those who would love to see it.

As someone who was in YW4 original translation team that disbanded after series of conflicts - I prefer visible results in case of this project.
Btw. you will find for every possible thing somebody who would like to see it. This argument is worthless.
People who finishes such projects are not doing this because some randos want to play games in their language. This motivation is pretty weak.

Prove me that I'm wrong by bringing results. I will be happy to change my mind.

Added STEINS;GATE: Linear Bounded Phenogram.
It was never released in West on Switch. It's available in Japanese bundle release called "Steins;Gate: Divergencies Assort" which includes also Steins;Gate 0 and My Darling's Embrace. Both are available officially with English language on Switch.

Can I suggest Dies Irae and Cyanotype Daydream? They are both english on Steam and at least Dies Irae should have not been modded since PC release, because team couldn't even figure how to merge Acta Est Fabula and Amantes Amentes versions...

This was actually my very first project. I didn't make backups of tools and files and they burned out with my first Switch. It's not like it matters since those tools were shit from todays perspective. Never got back to it and I don't feel like it because game is still fresh in my mind.

I can say it is doable, tools to pack archives are in romfs, you need to disassemble scenario file though because font is bigger in Switch release and English text as-is is taking too much space and going below display. You can adjust font size in config file, but setting any other font size than original results in font rendering glyphs with artifacts and not aligned to the same y axis value.

Cyanotype Daydream
I didn't get around changes they introduced to all-ages version. I heard criticism about censoring release on consoles and PC West release (for example changing setting from high school to university), but dunno if it's just whining of purists. I will look at it at some point.

Welp, it didn't crash. :P

All scenario texts are injected, UI and Tips remain. + Tests of course.
Half of Prologue was changed, using machine translation for now to fill gap (screen above is using ML). Other chapters are barely changed in comparison to PC Western release.

I'm sticking with PC translation whenever possible, meaning that if line is not voiced, was censored in Switch release and it doesn't require adding new entry to scenario assembly, it won't be censored with translation mod.

Curious enough there are some English leftovers that I can use to replace some Japanese stuff. I guess they planned English release of this game, but it was ditched? There are also Chinese leftovers.

may i suggest adding Chaos;Head Noah's patch to this list? they released the patch today and it's basically completely different to (and superior to and more faithful than) the official release, both in terms of the text translation, translating songs and images, fixing lots of technical issues and more. It's actually quite impressive (even more than was expected).

Patch list:

Info on why they did their own TL:

lnterestingly enough they confirmed to Gematsu that the Japanese release wouldn't have english after it announced, yet the PC Steam release is multilingual? Maybe it was a port of that release?

either way it's good to see this translation port going well :)

Was working recently on MUSICUS, but after reviewing changes between Switch and PC version I came to the point where I don't see any reason to port translation since there are too many changes. I will just finish putting all changes to my sheet, put patched files on github and wait that maybe someone will want to translate it.
Funny i was working on this too (just for restoring the Hentai scenes only) having no idea where the scenario files for those parts fits into the Switch version and then adding them into event.datu8 for it to read them maybe?

I'd honestly never knew this many people was working on the same thing i was working on as well and somewhat all gave up, like i'm about too right now

For OP be sure to add Cthulhu Mythos RPG The Sleeping Girl of the Miasma Sea to that list as well, cuz i was able to get that to work with the title screen and main menu into english (though the main menu is heavily based on the PC version)

If anyone knows how to do edit the Switch version's main menu and port all the english text to that version (or quicker to just edit the English PC version instead) lemme know!

@PrincessLisette I know about this patch, but as I said earlier, this thread is only listing patches for games that don't have official English release on Switch.

Otherwise I would need to include every restoration patch to this thread and there are some, mainly for NSFW content.

I remove every patch from list if game is officially released in English, even if translation is shit.

@Impossible_Igntiz for NeXAS engine restoring hentai scenes is pretty hard. There is no decompilation tool for scripts and working with assembly can be crazy. I don't even know about existence of disassembler for any NeXAS game. That's why I made one for Aonatsu Line to add images to scenes that have voice lines without texts. :P

I mainly use GARBro (modded version) and Aquarium_tools to do the work, speaking of that engine, there was another game i was also doing a uncensoring mod for called "Sengoku † Koihime ~Otome Kenran ☆ Sengoku Emaki~" that it's romfs structure was exactly the same as MUSICUS with the layout and the expose .pngs included and all that, but that too is lookin like i won't be able to do as well sadly....

Those tools are only extracting and applying strings. Every tool I found for NeXAS binu8 did only this. They don't allow editing how scripts behave.

oh my fault, yeah it sucks that no one has done this at the moment... hopefully some forum member from some foreign forum site out in the wild has figured this out already by now and has made the tool to do this, we just haven't found it yet...

ekhm. look above your post.
oooh i see what you mean, nice tool! would help alot to see what the game reads much easier, but how do you go adding the nsfw scenes with the tool? wouldn't i need to crate a new or custom .binu8 file? Also make changes to renamelist_script.datu8 file for the engine to read the newly added stuff right? sorry if i'm sounding noob-ish in anyway as i'm familar how the whole engine works truthfully compared to Artemis which is much easier for me to understand and do lol.

It would be too tiresome to implement any new scenario this way. You can edit script for simple stuff, but with more stuff it gets more annoying. Issue is only i don't understand how it switches between different file scripts. renamelists are built in pretty simple way, so there would be no issue with that. Issue is that with assembly one mismatched instruction can crash game or make it stuck. :P
Post automatically merged:

And to add on top of that - each NeXAS script contains graphics effects assembly after scenario assembly in one file. And I don't touch that. Adding new graphics effects to script is a completely unknown beast to me.

I have learned from 9-nine experience that porting shit from one engine to another is tiring on it's own even if you have access to decompiled scripts in Switch.
