msxDS v0.8
MSX Emulator
fsmxDS%20v08.jpg
Nyagosu has released an update for the Nintendo DS MSX emulator msxDS.

Changelog:
Already 3 years that I had not touched the code. This year I am pleased to finally offer an update with many more changes which are not visible to the user but necessary. The key changes:
- Compiled with devkitARM libnds r27 and 1.4.0.
- Using the library libfifo optimized by Cooper.
- New routine sound (It's faster and stable).
- Window loading greater and more convenient.

Known issues:
- MsxDS crashes after a few reboots of the MSX.
- The keyboard has a few flaws.

Setup said:
Unzip the archive and copy fmsxDS.nds on your flash card.

Copy the /msxds folder into root on your flash card. Copy the following MSX/MSX2/MSX2+ japanese Bios into this folder.

- MSX.ROM = MSX BIOS and BASIC (CRC32: EE229390)
- MSX2.ROM = MSX2 BIOS and BASIC (CRC32: 9B3E7B97)
- MSX2EXT.ROM = MSX2 ExtROM (CRC32: 43E7A7FC)
- MSX2P.ROM = MSX2+ BIOS and BASIC (CRC32: 19771608)
- MSX2PEXT.ROM = MSX2+ ExtROM (CRC32: B8BA44D3)
- DISK.ROM = DiskROM and BDOS (CRC32: 721F61DF)
- CMOS.ROM = To save parameters of the MSX.

*Note that the BIOS files can not be legally distributed and are not packaged with the homebrew

Need DLDI patch to work.

thats really excellent actually... if only we had a MGS game for the DS

Ghost Babel on the gameboy color was fucking awesome. I would love a sequel to that. It was like a polished old school metal gear game, so much fun.

A good RPG or casual game would be nice. Action is also nice

@SylverReZ, I dislike the kind of drm where you have to play single player games online all the time bc of some verification bs

@Xdqwerty, Don't use games that have Easy Anti-Cheat as its been exploited many times.

@SylverReZ, my PC can't run most AAA games so i wont

@SylverReZ, I also heard one of the Prince of Persia games was so unfinished that it required the "24/7 online" drm so a puzzle could be done and the game could be finished. And that when the Ubisoft servers were closed the (cracked) game was impossible to finish or something like that
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, That's extra scummy. Ubisoft nowadays ship out incomplete games like Skull and Bones which was being worked on for nearly a decade now.

@SylverReZ, i think they have been doing that since late 2000s

Either that or their old games were unfinished aswell but we can't notice it

I like that games can be fixed after the fact, hate that it's being abused via beta tests... And DLC... I was a 7800 owner back in the day and loved Impossible Mission, turns out I couldn't beat it because it was actually impossible lol
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I never knew about it at the time but a fixed version was available but you had to mail in your broken copy lol
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
So that version is semi rare
