Okay, I have finally given up and resorted to asking for help.
I have modded/hacked/jailbroken/rooted MANY devices and never had as many issues as I have on the switch.

I have tried goldleaf, tinfoil, awoo and tinwoo and yet still can not get a single game to install and work.
They either install corrupted, tell me I need a nintendo account, give me a random error or just fail to install.
I have tried NSP, NSZ and XCI (have not seen any XCZ) yet no matter what I do I get one problem or another.

I have followed about 10 different guides and they were all fruitless.
I am starting to feel like an idiot, and it really hurts!

What possibly could I be doing wrong? (Are there any up-to-date guides I have missed?)

I honestly only want to use this to try games without demos before I buy them as I have bought too many games and after 10-30 mins close and never play again, which is a HUGE waste of money.

1) You don't have sigpatches installed
2) You should NEVER play online with NSP stuff installed, unless you don't care about getting banned (console and/or NNID)
3) For games that require online connection to play, but could otherwise be played single player, use linkleho to attach an NNID to it. IIRC, you need to play in airplane mode. Online with dns mitm or whatever, will error out some of those games.

Hello,
I tried installing the a booster course dlc nsp for mario kart but it somehow didnt worked. All it did was changing the icons from the dlc cups to the icon of the bell cup and you dont see the edge of the dlc cups when you are in the normal cup selection area and you dont soo the normal cups edges if you are in the dlc cup selecting area ( on the pictures). That happens in both sysmmc and emummc but it works normally in the standard switch booted without cfw. Does anybody know how to change it or how to uninstall the dlc nsp i installed before? Maybe it comes from the update nsp pack that i installed… i really dont know.

having a hard time find the right information. It had my switch since they came out and its time for a battery replacemen. Can do the work myself and everythingsall ready replaced plenty of parts on mine that have broke. can someone point me I. The direction of the correct battery to replace it? An are there bigger battery’s that share the same dimension that work with gen 1 switch?

As far as I can tell this OS is deprecated, so I'd like to follow this guide https://rentry.org/mys8q to migrate to Atmosphere and then upgrade the Switch version to something more recent. Since I'm a hopeless noob, I'd just like to pass the first sanity check and have some more knowledgeable good soul warn me if this is a terrible idea for some reason.

No, don't follow that guide. Its not good and there are much better ones out there. This guide is the one I always recommend to new users because not only is it the first guide ever released but it has been regularly updated as the scene progressed.

Thanks, that's good to know. I actually found that guide, but it worried me that SXOS and migrating is never mentioned, as well as some SX_Gear_v1.1.zip file that I thought was necessary for the migration to be performed.

Yes i downloaded the latest update for the game and tried to install it. It said that it worked but somehow everytime i start the game it says: There is an Update availabe.
If i click download then cancel i can start the game normally. Does that mean that i did something wrong with updating the game?

I forgot to add, the Switch I got has that small thingie that plugs into the charger port and "injects" the necessary files to boot into CFW (at least I think so, sorry if I'm saying stupid things). I'm not sure where that thingamajig enters the story, except for the fact that I need to put it in whenever I power off the console, otherwise I just get a black screen.

If I follow said guide, will it make this thing redundant... or do I need to somehow fit it inside the whole "migration" process?

Ouch... my eyes! First thing you should do is open putty, click on the word "Terminal" in the left column, and check the box next to "implicit CR in every LF". You know... so you can read the output... And that doesn't really save, unless you save the session yourself, before connecting (so check it each time you open putty).

'd' will give a diagnostic output. Post the results of that here.

'b' Boot OFW. Have you tried that? Or holding Vol +and- on power up to do the same?

Pretty sure my 'v' output was the same.

Yep. 100% your installer messed it up. Purple screen points to the cmd resistor at a minimum. The red LED on the chip, points to an eMMC error (the dat0 adapter). If you’re lucky, it’s just that adapter.

You need to find the hwfly-nx firmware thread and pm the author to get in touch on discord. I’m sure there are other electrical engineers here, but he’s the only person that I know for sure, has the skills to potentially repair your Switch (If that resistor is a problem). He can also replace the dat0 adapter with one of the better ones.

That sounds like your game isn't up to date and you should try it again. How big was the update file you installed and what is the firmware of your console?

Is the thread on gbatemp? I can't find any official thread, but I found the firmware posted on github. I tried using searchbar on gbatemp but can't find any official release thread relating to hwfly-nx.

It sorta looks like a small Switch, and it has "RCM loader" written on it. Still trying to figure out where that thing fits into the equation. All I know about it is that it helps me power on the switch when it's off, otherwise it acts as if it's bricked (I assume I have that AutoRCM setting set on).

Ahh so probably that sig patches thing as I did the 90dns, and atmosphere incognito, though some may be because of that linkleho you mentioned.
I'll have to look into all that.

You can also find HDMI hubs/switches that have an RCA/component outs.

We should concentrate on making NX_Game_info work on your system.. It seems to be choking for some reason, on your end. When I run it on Linux here (command line interface version), I get something like this:

So on Windows, it should be nxgameinfo_cli.exe **full path of your nsp file** (not including the **)
You enter that in a command prompt (that black window thing) and the command prompt should be opened in the same directory where nxgameinfo_cli.exe is located. Don't forget to also include a fresh prod.keys in that same directory. Once you get it working, it should help you to verify all your nsp files. The most important info is Structure, Signature and Permission. CDN means originally downloaded from eShop, Signature passed means it hasn't been tampered with, and Permission Safe means it won't do nasty stuff to your console.

My nsp/nsz files come from a variety of sources, some more trustworthy than others, but when I'm in doubt, a quick check with nx game_ info is enough to reassure me.

My firmware is 14.1.2 and the update file was 1.19 GB i think.
