Highly possible that the install got messed up. The installer should have taken care of the training part, because a screen complaining about no SD card inserted, is the only way to 100% know that it's installed correctly and is able to glitch correctly.Hi there everybody,
I have a OLED switch and I paid a tech repair shop to do a modchip install on it. I provided the chip, it was the v4 oled modchip. (I'm fairly certain it's the "right" one, I got the link from a modder)
They installed the modchip, but told me they wouldn't handle any of the software part because of legalities.
They sent the Switch back to me, and I'm having trouble getting the software up and running.
Here's where the issues start: Upon turning on the Switch, the screen slowly blinks purple five times. The modchip LED blinks orange really fast during that time.
After that, the screen goes black and the modchip LED fades in and out of yellow. This is the current state. I saw a debug GIF on hwfly github for the LED, and apparently this is the glitch training process for 15-30 minutes, but it's been going for nearly 6 hours now. I'm not sure what to do.
The SD card I'm using is a fresh SD card with only the 0.71 firmware files on it.

To try and fix it I've tried:
Flashing 0.71 and put all the files from 0.71 onto the sd card
Flashing Spacecraft v2 (I couldn't even flash it, was an error or something)
Booting with and without SD card

YOU also should have read the instructions. You are not supposed to train it with an sd inserted. I also hope that USB cable us plugged into a charger, and not into a computer. You can google how to use debug with putty (you'll need to open your case up and connect the USB dongle... and be VERY careful not to put it in upside-down), or you might want to reset the chip, forcing to glitch from scratch (without an sd card in the Switch). How to reset? Also in the instructions. Short 2 pins while powering on.
But really, there are so many things that can go wrong with these installs, it isn't even funny. Even the chips themselves can be defective and need a re-flow. I destroyed an OLED on my first attempt. Haven't had a single issue with my second. But I will never try to do it for someone else. Too damn risky.
