sorry for being dumb and asking so many questions and thanks for being such a patient had helpful forum member, at least this thread is called Noob paradise :)

you say to update with daybreak to 14.1.1 but i was trying to get back to 13.2.1 which worked fine with Tinfoil.
Your 13.2.1 Sigpatches along with your 13.2.1 FW allowed Tinfoil to work. Now that you are on 14.1.1 your Sigpatches don’t work so you need to grab the latest set that matches your FW.
I did a Emunand directly from my Sysnand which put my emunand on 14.1.1 and Tinfoil does not like it so i tried to roll my Emunand back to 13.2.1 using an emmc backup i have made with 13.2.1 but once it was complete, i was still on 14.1.1 :(
Glad to see your Switch is forcing you to do the right thing and upgrade to latest.
I used the restore emmc option in Hekate and put the rawnand.bin, BOOT0 and BOOT1 made from 13.2.1 into the restore folder and ran the restore but i was still on 14.1.1 so i obviously did something wrong.
Yes, you tried to go backwards. Move forward…into the light! It is warm and safe and wonderful here. Join us!
I have tried to update everything instead and tried using AIO updater but Tinfoil still throws the error when i try to install a game despite telling AIO updater to update everything including Sigpatches.
AIO is an ease of use app for when everything is working perfectly and you just want to go fast. If things are broken, an AIO can make things worse.
Daybreak is for updating to the latest FW isn't it?
Daybreak will install any FW, up or down. It can make things better or worse thiugh, because it is just a tool that does what you tell it. :)
My emunand is already on 14.1.1 and ive been trying to get back to 13.2.1, Daybreak isnt seeing any compatible files, what am i meant to point it towards??
Grab the files from the Darth Sternie Firmware site. But honestly…you should only be grabbing 14.1.1.
Here is the error i get from Tinfoil when trying to install games:
Grab the Sigpatches from either of these fantastic places:

It seems AIO does not work, i have just manually copied the files available from the link you provided and Tinfoil is working again and installing as i type, thankyou!

I am so grateful for all the help you provide, you have helped me and many others a hell of a lot and i appreciate it.

Hi! I Just installed deepSea. In general it's ok but it doesn't seem TinWoo wants to start. Whenever I click it it just doesn't start. Any ideas on how to fix the problem?

Tinwoo.nro is just about the simplest installation tool to install, just drop it in the /switch/ directory and you’re good to go!

Make sure you are on FW 14.1.1, Atmos 13.2.1 and Hekate 5.7.2.

If those are all good then double check your Sigpatches here:

Still not working? Double check your install by following along with this guide and see what, if anything, is missing: https://rentry.org/SwitchHackingIsEasy

I’ve been reading up about CFW on the Nintendo switch and asked a few questions here. I’m the kind of person that likes to know all the info about a subject before jumping in, and not just following tutorials blindly. Although I have been guilty of that in the past.

Anyway, I wanted to get some sort of idea of the order in which I should do things. There are a lot of good guides out there but I’ve yet to find one that really goes in-depth and runs you through from A-Z and in a structured step by step manner. I may be rushing through and missing things but regardless I just wanted some clarity.

I have a number of questions and I hope you guys can help out… I have a V1 Erista Switch ands I’d like to set it up so that I have a emunand setup with the capability of booting to OFW and playing online and accessing the e shop.

1) Should the setup follow the following path

Format my SDCard to Fat32
Run Hekate and back up sysnand and dump the device keys
Make sure the switch is in airplane mode before setting up Emunand.
Setup emunand
Install/run Igcognito, exosphere, and DNS Mitm

2) Some questions on the Emunand

a) I see you can boot to the OFW through Hekate. I wondered why you would do that and not just yank the sd card out?

b) Is it correct that the emunand partitioned sd card allows files related to the emunand and the sysnand to reside on the same card?

c) At what point do you apply the various to take the switch offline, eg incognito, exosphere, dns mitm

3) If I want to update the OFW is it best doing it through the Switch OS or another method.

4) Will having a OFW on a higher version than the emunand case any issues, Is it best to wait and install everything when both OFW and CFW are all up to date.

Anyhoo a bit of a list, hope you guys can shed some light

thanks…

Format my SDCard to Fat32
download Hekate and atmosphere to SDCard
Run Hekate and back up sysnand and dump the device keys
Make sure the switch is in airplane mode before setting up Emunand.

Install/run Igcognito, exosphere, and DNS Mitm
Debatable if you need both incognito and exosphere but won’t down a man for double baggin. ;-)
2) Some questions on the Emunand

a) I see you can boot to the OFW through Hekate. I wondered why you would do that and not just yank the sd card out?
Hekate keeps yiu from running the fuse checker/burner. You can run down rev OFW if you’d like. I run 11.0.0 on Sysnand and 14.1.1 on emunand. They would work well together without Hekate.
b) Is it correct that the emunand partitioned sd card allows files related to the emunand and the sysnand to reside on the same card?
Sysnand is not on your card. It’s on the emmc memory. Emunand is typically a partition with a copy of that memory. Technically you can also have a copy of the memory in a directory (files based emunand)
c) At what point do you apply the various to take the switch offline, eg incognito, exosphere, dns mitm
as soon as you put aatmosphere on your card you can set up exosphere and dns:mitm. They are simple files you put on your card. See here: https://rentry.org/ExosphereDNSMITM. You can inject Incognito_RCM as soon as you can inject a payload.
3) If I want to update the OFW is it best doing it through the Switch OS or another method.
Yes, best to keep Sysnand clean and obey all Ninty rules. You can technically update it via Daybreak as well (since you could have technically gotten it from a game cartridge so it’s not that suspicious) but that makes me nervous.
4) Will having a OFW on a higher version than the emunand case any issues, Is it best to wait and install everything when both OFW and CFW are all up to date.
No issues at all With Hekate in play. You can dump your firmware from Sysnand and apply the resulting files to your Emunand using Daybreak…neat, huh?

You bet. Good list of Qs.

I only run OFW on sysnand and Lakka through Hekate. Is it safe to leave the Lakka SD card in my switch when playing on OFW/going online? Also, is Lakka safe even if I didn't make an emunand? I don't have much need for CFW outside retroarch.

Hey guys, is there a place to follow hacking development of V2 models?

Because here in my city doesn't have any place to install a modchip and I'm afraid to install by myself because I'm not good at soldering. I tried soldering a modchip in a original Xbox and in a GameCube and I messed up everything.
Nobody is actively looking to hack patched Nintendo Switch consoles. If there is any development however, it would be posted on this website. However that sort of development may take years if it ever even happens in the first place.

Why would Nintendo scan the contents of SD cards? Not only is that potentially illegal as personal information can be stored on the SD card but it can also lead to false positives because you need more than an SD card full of CFW and homebrew files to hack a Switch.

Are you using the latest version of Atmosphere? What happens if you try to boot it using the latest version of fusee.bin instead of Hekate?

picture of this??? the nintendo just ends in a black screen
first says atmosohere with logo on blue svcreen then its a black screen with just the logo then black screen

Hello , I just installed CFW from my switch , no how do I rip games from online? Do I download games from the Tinfoil app? Or is there another way

I can’t really find a guide anywhere
You can't ask for sources of games here.

That being said, there are websites you can go to that host links to NSP files you can install using your favorite NSP installer. There are Tinfoil shops you can add to Tinfoil, but they generally aren't recommended, and my understanding is most/all of them are shut down at this point, at least for now.

Hey guys, I think I'm in big trouble. I just now accidentally updated the firmware in my switch, and now it just shows a black screen with the words:

"A fatal error occurred running fusee.
Unable to identify package1!

Press POWER to reboot."

Am I screwed here? What can I do to get my Switch back up and running again?
