Hi everyone, i'm a new user and i have a question...

i got a Switch since a couple years ago, and it have install cfw SX OS, but i don't want to have it anymore and i want to restore my Switch to stock. I don't know what to do, I fully read the forums but don't find a similar solution.

Version of the Switch is 10.2.0, and version of SX OS is V3.1.0. Never installed NSP only play with XCI files.

I was thinking to do a factory reset and format microsd, but when will connected to internet the console will update to the latest version of Nintendo and maybe will banned (im not sure of this, just guess). Other solution can be update manually to latest version of Nintendo with ChoiDujourNX and then, delete SX OS and run OFW.
It doesn't matter if i lose everything, i just want to have my Switch back to stock :(

PD: I don't have BackupNAND, so I must take a risk with what I have

If you guys can help me or advise me I rly apreciate it!

If you never installed nsps, and never use d something like homebrew or mods as xci, it might be safe to just go online.
Though sxos doesn't have all the log creation protection, so I can't say it for certain.
Also a factory reset will not clear the logs send to Nintendo, so that will not protect you.
So the only thing you can do is probably to move to atmosphere syscfw and use atmosphere to go online, if you want to reduce the telemetry send to nintendo, or move to ofw and hope you do not get banned.

Also don't use ChoiDujourNX, instead use daybreak and atmosphere for updates.

How safe it is to officially update games on atmosphere? 👀 (no emu, just clean sys)
Depends on it, if its a clean, nsp free sysnand cfw, there should be no problem, just make sure to NOT use incognito/prod info blanking on your online nand. I'm in cfw for years by now, with no idea when I last bootet ofw.

a clean nsp? you mean a legit game? yeah i want to update my cartridge games and purchased eshop without changing to ofw to do that

I meant: clean, nsp free.
So yeah, as longs as you never installed any backups or homebrew nsps you are OK.
Just use the online feature in cfw with atmospheres default settings, it's what atmosphere was actually build for.

I have updated my games in CFW many times without any issues.
I always update firmware and games officially.
NOTE: I never used any piracy tools, force install nsps, or use any sigpatches.
The emunand is clean.

Is dumping games bannable or detectable by Nintendo? I want to use a BoTW mod manager and for whatever reason it needs an owned/dumped copy of the game. I wonder this because dumping a rom is almost like piracy I think, obviously I'm not installing the dumped file because I already have the cartdrige.

Running any CFW/homebrew runs the risk of getting the user banned.

There has been no report of anyone getting banned for using atmopshere and homebrew apps. Many people, including scires, have been using a CFW'd switch with no issue.
There have. Its in the spreadsheet. I used to keep a tally but when it reached around 20 reports, I stopped keeping track because there was too many reports so it was deemed bannable.

Holy shit, do you even have another quote to say?
Its the truth isn't it? At the end of the day, its Nintendo whose decision it is to ban users. All we can do is merely collect information after the fact then reach our own conclusions. That's literally the sole reason this thread exists; to compile information from as many users as possible to reach a more definitive conclusion.

The conclusion has already been reached. They ban you if you pirate or misbehave online.

Bruh, do people like you ever have any other questions to ask? These questions literally answer themselves.
Does it need homebrew/cfw to achieve x? Then yes it's bannable, running anything on your switch to achieve a task that wasn't meant to be done is bannable. While dumping a cart you own for backup isn't bannable directly the mere fact you are using cfw to achieve that is.

I got banned after five years of modded switch usage just because I accidentally loaded cfw for like one second after noticing I wasn't on emunand, and that was enough for me to get my entire switch banned, access revoked to downloads etc.

i think i find that false as many dont admit to pirating games

Normally you don't get banned from starting cfw once, at least not with stock atmosphere.
You Probably had something like prodinfo blanking enabled for sysnand, or some weird system module or patches.

I'm using cfw for years now while going online exclusively in cfw, for some timen I even used sxos (with atmospheres creport), no ban on either of my switches.
Same for all the family and friends switches I helped to mod, all sysnand only cfw, not booting stock normally, always going online in cfw. But all of them use a clean atmosphere with only modules like Sys-dvr, and also nobody of them uses signature patches.
