Hi,

I wanted to restore the NAND on mi RVL-101 wii (that wii that does not have gamecube ports.)
The problem is that bootmii says that it needs the konami code, however the wii remote does not work under bootmii, and the wii does not have gamecube ports ._.
Is there a way to fix this without opening up the wii?

If there is not a single way, then bootmii is open source? I can modify the code in order to skip that s***** check.

Thanks

Closed source I'm afraid, on a related note if bootmii is installed to boot2 u can restore nands with just the power and reset buttons on the console, but unfortunately if it's only installed as IOS u need a GC controller to enter the konami code
i guess i will reverse engenier it (idk how but yeah)

Is the Wii bricked? There are other tools you can launch through BootMii or HBC that can probably restore it to working condition. Otherwise, it isn't worth the risk trying to restore a NAND, because there is no brick protection in case the restore goes wrong.

Is there a reason on why you want to do that? Did you have an issue you wanted to fix by doing that? Does the system function as it should ? If so, it's probably not worth it..

i just fixed the wii, i didn't needed to restore nand.

Still, i wonder how other people (who have bricked vl-101 wii) are able to recover their console lol.
You wonder about that while the rest of us wonder about how you did it, lol

It's posts like this one that will lead to others repeating the exact same question

So in a way you're in part the cause of your own bewilderment, lol!

... I just thought way too deeply about that for a second, lol

How and what you did exactly to "fix" the Wii?
And what kind of "problem" you were having with it in the first place, that made you think it can only be fixed with a nand restore?

It's pretty straight forward, you use the nand backup you created with BootMii and put it on your sd card, then boot into BootMii and click on restore nand. But if the user doesn't have said backup, or doesn't have BootMii installed as either IOS or as Boot2, then it's safe to say it's pretty much bricked!

@BigOnYa, The worst part when buying 360's at GameStop, is that they bolt the heatsinks down.
