Hmm well for now I did the whole NAND-dump way for the Xenoblade 2 patch and JP voice-pack but for other updates I might try this then.It shouldn't because I don't recall anything in the Terms of Service stating that users will get banned for simply connecting with a hacked console.
I'm running Metroid Dread on firmware 11.0.0 on emuNAND, from what I gathered that's the lowest version that runs it.Hi guys. I am thinking about getting the physical version of Metroid Dread. Um, what is the required Switch Firmware version? My hackable Switch is on 12 something. Thoughts and help appreciated![]()
Took your advice, and managed to back up/incognito emuMMC with Incognito while CFW was on 9.0.1. But after Daybreak upgrade to 12.0.0, I am unable to back up/incognito emuMMC. I get the error "unknown pkg1 version."If you have any nsp installed and go online without 90dns or incognito, you're 100% getting banned. Otherwise you're safe (as safe as it can go).
If you want to reduce the risk as much as you can, you should have an emunand, where all the cfw stuff is and install on it both, 90dns and incognito, and then separately, have a clean sysnand without any modification, where you can even play online safely as long as you don't run cfw on it and just use legit bought games. (this is what I've been doing for years now).
Incognito will remove your switch personal information so it can't connect to Nintendo servers. Therefore the backup option in incognito can only be used BEFORE you use incognito and must be done just once per nand. The backup file it makes can be used in any firmware version afterwards, you don't need (and can't) make additional backups because the information was removed and there's nothing to backup anymore. Updating to higher versions won't "uninstall" incognito. You can only uninstall it by restoring that prodinfo backup file, or by restoring a full nand backup.Took your advice, and managed to back up/incognito emuMMC with Incognito while CFW was on 9.0.1. Ok, I went nuclear and copied the entire SD card that was working to the one that wasn't, after deleting everything on the SD that wasn't working. (but no formatting or anything, just deleting)ok, I'm at my wits end and could really use some help. I have 2 switches set up exactly the same, they both used to work the same until I mistakenly deleted some files on each SD card, so last night I reformatted Fat32 and set everything up from scratch and got to HOS firmware 13.0.0 and AMS 1.1.1. Same size/type SD cards.
One works perfectly. The other gives me an error in tinwoo whenever I try to install an nsp:
"OpenFileSystemWithId:122: Failed to open file system with id:
@SdCardContent://registered/0000004F/bunchofnumbersandlettersdae/nca. Error code: 0x00234c02"
Some googling suggested I may have out of date patches or that the ini file isn't set up properly, but the same file set up on the other switch installed the nsp fine. I'm using the same usb cable, usb port, nsp file, everything. Any help would be MUCH appreciated.

Myself a PC and console gamer, I was in the same boat. Found a V1 that wasn't turning on bc AutoRCM for $150 second hand and it was definitely worth it! At least while I wait for a jailbreak for PS4 FW 8.5+. Don't get me wrong, if the title is available for PC, I would grab that one over the PS4 or Switch port. But for titles not yet patched for PC, a Switch V1 comes in clutch. Plus being able to dock and play on the big screen with a PS4 controller natively (using MissionControl) means that I can play Switch or emulator titles!

Where did you originally download your hekate_ipl.ini file from?I just reinstalled atmosphere with this guide https://nh-server.github.io/switch-guide/user_guide/ . Everything worked so far. I then downloaded awoo installer and stupidly clicked on install sig patches without payiong attention to the warning. Now I can´t load into emummc. It also does not say "Atmosphere FSS0 EmuMMC" but "CFW - emuMMC". I insertet the original .ini file but that didn´t change nothing.
Are you trying to launch sysMMC or emuMMC?Ok, I went nuclear and copied the entire SD card that was working to the one that wasn't, after deleting everything on the SD that wasn't working. (but no formatting or anything, just deleting)
idk why, but it worked. I had tried replacing the atmosphere and bootloader folders before so I'm surprised this worked.
When I put the card back in it's original switch after replacing ALL the files, I got a prompt once atmosphere started that it had save files from another switch and that they had to be deleted to continue forward. I pressed delete (the only option), atmosphere restarted itself, and now everything works.
That being said I have a new question. I took the card from one switch and put it in the other, launched through Hekate as I normally do, but then the screen just goes black after flashing the Hekate logo one more time. Any idea why that is? Just curious.
I mean do firmware updates make you go through each stage or does it just go to the latest?I currently am on firmware 8 (haven't use the switch in a while). I've updated to the latest Atmosphere. Can I go straight to the latest firmware or do I need to go slowly in stages?
I highly recommend using TinWoo Installer instead as it is what I personally use to install .NSP files.I followed this guide to install atmosphere. Now I basically have the stock atmosphere on emunand (System version 13.0.0|AMS 1.1.1|E). It runs on Hekate. I copied the hekate files from ITotalJustice , otherwise, I didn't change anything. I'm launching my switch via the launch option.
My problem is that I cannot install Tinfoil. I tried installing NSPs with Goldleaf (and Quarks on my PC), which worked for two games (Hades and Binding of Isaac), (it prompts me to update Hades, but that's a seperate problem), but I get an error if I try to install Pokemon Snap. What am I doing wrong here?
TBH boss, it may be a sig patch issue. I had to re-jailbreak my NS a few times and am now I can install with TinWoo over USB with my old Samsung S8. If it helps, this is what I did (see Step 1), though it may involve starting from scratch.I followed this guide to install atmosphere. Well I figured out how to edit the name without the Switch hanging, but now after making an edit to that file all my user profiles just disappear. Anyone know how to edit the name without that happening? Thanks.Hi, I am trying to edit my user account name to add some special symbols, specifically the name that is right next to the account picture in the "Profile" section. I think I need to edit this file: "SYSTEM:\save\8000000000000010"
But whenever I change the name and replace the file, the system hangs after the Switch icon appears. Can anyone help? Thanks in advance.
I have update my switch to laters firmware and update atomsphere, cheats are always on and I have dmnt_cheats_enabled_by_default = u8!0x0 in system settings and move system settings to config.
What Can I do for to cheats not be on?
