Has anyone had this problem?
2ds xl running homebrew, latest Luma version, when a CIA being installed fails all games disappear from the home menu but are still in the software management. If I copy back the Nintendo folder from a back up on a pc everything returns and can be played, anyone seen this before?

How many games do you have installed? There is a 300 title limit on the 3ds.

games will disappear if the ticket is absent, not sure if that's happening here. maybe something is happening when it's adding the ticket to the database causing some sort of corruption. the databases are on both the ctrnand and the sd card from what I remember.

I think they're named the same thing. here's what they look like on the ctrnand (backed them up):

Yep sounds like it's very similar to when random games started to dissappear from my 3ds. After much head scratching and trying various fixes the actual solution was to just download a demo from the Eshop and the database fixed itself.

that's the same thing that happens with the wii u. there's no tools to fix the database (at least on the wii u), so downloading something free will usually cause it to rebuild itself.

I found these databases on the sd card, but they're different sizes (not sure why):

import is probably where they go during installation. that's the same location as the wii u.

I don't know if it was much of a suggestion but rather a theory as to what's going on. your sd card may be to blame. check it with h2testw. I have almost never had an cia fail to install, so if it's happening a lot...
