Thanks so much for reaching out. I wasn't sure if this was in the correct place and I saw the noob section so I thought it might be better. I'm new to this, my apologies. Let me know if I should delete or move a post and I will. I appreciate it !
When I start a Wii game from USB Loader GX the Wii controller LED goes out and it stays on a black screen. Then when I try to use the wii controller it blinks but does not connect and the screen is still black. I then have to hold down the power button and re turn on the console to get it working again.

Thank you and no worries.:)

I have been looking for the Tales of Symphonia Multiplayer Camera codes for a while to use on dolphin, but every time I find archives of the wiird forums where it was shared, they are down, I can't find a site that's still up with the codes from "dcx2" who seem to have wrote them... anyone has any updated info about that?

Hello! I've been wanting to use launch Gecko OS on 4.3u, however when I launch the program when it loads my Wii loads a black screen and I cannot do anything but turn it off. I tried formatting my SD card but to no avail, if you have a solution that would help, please tell me. Thank you!

So I managed to get my Wii playing games from a USB thumb drive. I went a bit mad last night kicking off some downloads. Now i realise that some of them aren nkit.gcz format.
I am on OSX and have an app called Witgui to manage the images.
Is there a way i can convert the nkit.gcz files to a format that Witgui and my Wii can use?

Also, Are there any guides on the various formats that rom's come in?

i dont know if nkit works on macos but you can try running the nkit software through wine and if that doesnt work try setting up a virtual machine or use bootcamp ot install windows on you mac device

I shall see if it runs in wine.
Does the nkit software convert the file so it is playable on a wii usbloader gx as that is my aim, not to play via na emulator.

Thanks, I have just tried WINE and it doesn't work on Big Sur. I think the simplest option is to redownlaod the roms.
Reddit has this this thread - Roms Megathread 3.0 Ybin Edition
renderTimingPixel.png
where it links to https://rentry.co/24ufx which has a long list of rows in either nNASOS Format or NKit Format .

Can Witgui use nNASOS?

Or where is the best place to get 'normal' iso's?

It should work with Mac OS but needs some Tool/Add On called MONO.
https://wiki.gbatemp.net/wiki/NKit#Download

Requirements
  • Windows | Linux | Mac
  • .Net for Windows or Mono 4.6.1 for Mac or Linux (Will be ported to dotnet core 3.0 soon)

Good Luck
Thank you.:)

I'm using a PC, but to use them I convert the .nkit file to .iso using the NKIT v1.4 program (just drag the .nkit file onto the ConvertToISO program and then once converted find the file under the subdirectory Processed/Wii_MatchFail), then use the WII BACKUP MANAGER program to convert that .iso file to a .wbfs file to save on space.

Okay so here's the deal... I just modded my Wii so that it can use homebrew and USB loader GX and some other emulators.

But I'm totally new to the game of modding consoles... So I basically wanna make my Wii into a ultimate emulator gaming machine!

I have personally a shit ton of games since I have been collecting since I was 4 and wanna use this to my advantage... BUT! My wife doesn't want me wasting 200+ plus dollars on a external drive... 16TB is the one we are talking here!

So we used a 64GB flash drive at first and now we both noticed that this was just too small but we were just trying it out first to see if it would work or nah! Using FAT32 format did prefect but I need more storage space.

While owning more than 1000+ games I kinda figure that would eat way more than a TB or 2 hence why I said 16TB.

Now I only wanna use my Wii for my GameCube games and Wii games. But I just learned that I could even load up my GBA collection and SNES collection as well!

That makes me pumped but I honestly am lost on which storage unit to buy... Money isn't really a problem I just don't wanna end up wasting it on a external hard drive...

So basically in the end I wanna turn a Wii into a emulation console with my entire collection on it...

Please help me figure out how to do this...

I was thinking I could buy a 16TB and then format it into a FAT32 and then put all my games on it and then just plus it to my Wii and have all the emulators run off of the external hard drive instead of a USB flash drive. Thus, making my entire collection safe and even give my kids a future console to have 1000+ games to play...

Help me please...
