Hacking I need help upgrading my hard drive

I have rebug for 4.86 and a 250 gb hard drive that I wanna replace with a 500 gb hard drive, what do I do,I don’t really care about backing up my games I just wanna have my 500 gb hard drive in my ps3 with rebug installed

Replacing the hdd is simple. Depending on which model you have, slim, phat, or superslim, the procedure is slightly different.

The slim has a single screw at the bottom of the system behind a small, visible compartment. Then you just move the front panel over.

you'll also have to reinstall the firmware, which goes on there like this: PS3/UPDATE/PS3UPDAT.PUP in all caps. I've never owned a phat to tell you how to replace the hdd, so you'll have to look that up.

Yes, just make sure you reinstall the same exact version you had... Don't wanna fuck anything up by using a different version. So if you still have the PS3UPDATE.PUP file, use it again.

Wait I used rebug 4.86.1 lite but my console is on 4.87 right now I haven’t switched the drive yet will the rebug file still work

Removing it on phat is also very easy: remove plastic little cover on the left side, unscrew the bottom screw, unhook the drive (pull towards the front of the ps3 then sideways out of the console.

there's one for the ps3 on windows, but it requires the erk (eid root key). I don't know if you can inject anything into it, but you can dump things with it. there may also be one for linux for the ps4, but I'm not entirely sure. I think you need the eap key there.
