Given that PSP supports core Picodrive, maybe I'll try this crazy idea when I return home:
-Use retroarch for PSP;
-Place Retroarch folder inside PPSSPP/GAME on Wii U SD card;
-Try Wii U PPSSPP and try some 32X rom;

There aren't many worthy games for 32X maybe the only memorable game : Knuckles' Chaotix.

Edit: I've just tried the said idea. It worked but sadly very slow like 1 fps (This isn't a metaphor really every second the player moves by a frame ).

Edit 2: just forget about this idea even on real PSP 32X works very slow. I should have checked that first:

Somebody knows why when running Cannonball engine/core and play Outrun everything is fine on the menu but as soon as I try to "Play Game" it crashes?
I have already compiled the roms correctly (Placed Outrun B roms in Cannonball directory and named them properly).

hello, classic "missing assets" issue here, the ui is kinda fucky. downloaded it from hbrew market place. how do i unfuck it?

Download it from the retroarch builtbot site, then put it on the sd card.
http://buildbot.libretro.com/assets/frontend/

Personally don't recommend it since it does use like almost 100MB you can use for more games, but if you compress the games with 7-zip or your sd card so big you don't care, that's okay too. :ninja:

Get the zip from here.

Unzip the zip on a pc and then put the resulting files in sd:/retroarch/media.

Hey guys, dunno if this should be a separate thread but chances are you've all heard of this issue anyway. So I've got the mame2003 libretro core running for RA on the Wii U, but every time I boot into it the screen is completely black and white, making it quite awkward to navigate folders. Any idea what's causing this or should I just use a different mame core?

If you haven't already try installing the assets files as described above and see if that solves any of your ui problems.

I'm 99% sure I did but I'll try again and report back. Any ideas what it may be if not that?

Not sure because I don't know what it looks like on your end. Do you have other cores installed and do they work? Do the games in MAME run?

What's worked for me in the past is doing the manual install of the nightly from the OP (make sure to grab RetroArch_rpx.7z and not RetroArch.7z) and then install the the Unofficial RetroArch Forwarder Channel also in the OP, then grab assets.zip and unzip it to the assets folder. And make sure to delete the old config file/s.

Just tried adding the asset files but that didn't seem to do anything. All my other cores work fine, and games still run on the mame2003 core its just the menu is really difficult to navigate as you can't see the text of any option until you highlight it if that makes sense. Should I maybe just try a different mame core? I'll also try a nightly version now.

Not sure. How did you install RA initially? There's also the MAME 2003-Plus core you could try.

EDIT: I noticed that my install from the nightly files didn't come with MAME 2003, so I installed the core directly via the RetroArch UI. I grabbed some roms from the MAME 0.78 romset and was able to load them up and everything looks good.

Edit edit: I should also say that I'm using the rgui, not the oxygen ui. rgui is uglier but faster. there are some options you can use to customize it from the default to make it less ugly as well.
