This whole thing seems like just adding a shortcut but honestly it has made a ton of difference. I have been finally playing from my huge collection of nds carts but keep stopping when my ocd kicks in due to the splash screen. Thanks again though

I totally agree not having the nds splash screen also fucks with my ocd It would be awesome if @Robz8 you could add it back in thanks.

So I followed all the steps to convert the nds file to a cia, but everytime it generates it just comes back out as an nds file instead. My PC is x64 so I'm not exactly sure what I'm doing wrong.

When I try to open the game, it says that the start failed cause /_nds/ntr-forwarder/sdcard.nds is missing. Where do I get that?

Any other way to get the shortcuts on the home menu? I'm not sure my little sisters are able to find the files without messing it up.

Works fine on a Mac. I just tested it.

When I try out a cia for a game I already saved, it takes me to a weird menu without much text. Weird...

I've been using the Forwarder for quite some time, and this is the first issue I've had. Wonder if anyone's had an experience like this.

I've loaded the Sands of Destruction .nds file into my _nds folder on the 3DS SD card. I've launched the forwarder, checked automatically select ROM path, and then browsed to the .nds file. The forwarder correctly displays the Sands of Destruction banner icon, game title, and game path. I create the .cia file, load it into my cia directory, then install on the 3DS. The install is successful. It shows up on my home screen, again with the correct banner icon and game title. But when I launch it, it loads an entirely different game.

Any ideas?

Re-download and re-extract the forwarder pack in the "Part 1" tab from the first post.

Since one can make a forwarder for GBARunner2 with this, and since TwilightMenu++ launches GBA games through GBARunner... is it feasible to create forwarder .CIAs for GBA games that launch those ROMs through GBARunner?

I know this seems redundant due to 3DS VC but I have a preference for the 1.25x scaling that GBARunner uses since it's running in DS mode which is then upscaled to the 3DS screens (the button remapping is nice too), and Retroarch emulation has been slow for me (running on an o3DS).

Another option is open_agb_firm but I'm wary of installing that when I already know that GBARunner runs all the games I want to at good compatibility and at my scaling preference, but having shortcuts to individual games on the 3DS menu would be a nice UI thing

is there a reason I should be aware of why the cahe fat table option isnt set to the option where nds bootstrap logo doesnt show up he default setting does it cause glitches or something?

It causes SD corruption for cards 64GB or above.

So I have followed the instructions and have the .cia file (only 200Kb which seemed rather small), moved that into my cias folder and attempted to install the forwarder cia file using FBI, it completes the installation but then I don't get an icon for the game on the homescreen, any ideas? Thank you in advance.

Edit: I found the issue, I hadn't fully updated GM9 and was missing one of the files for it. I updated GM9 and when I next turned the console on the tile appeared. Thanks anyway!

The forwarder CIA is small since it does not contain the actual rom.
