@Tetsuo Shima Perhaps I'm just a dummy, I copied/merged everything over, and I am now in the process of making sure all the items (roms and covers) in source_menu point to where they need to.

Is there a reference for the preferred emulator for each console/handheld?

EDIT - meh - disregard this. I see your past posts where you prefer the HEXAECO plugins for most because of your allegiance to scan lines haha - I also had to clean up some of my outdated .ini files that remained after merging. Can't wait to test everything out! Great job with this.

There are no better emulators, it's only a matter if personal preference. For me they're all equally good, as long as the games are running perfectly.
With the latest Wiiflow Test dol from Fledge68, you can switch plugins and set the roms paths very easily from Wiiflow itself.
For the plugins installation it's very important that you leave no duplicate .ini's (I mean 2 ini's with the same magic number).
Your best option would be to backup your old wiiflow/plugins folder, then totally delete it and copy the wiiflow/plugins folder from my pack.

How come there are so many plugins in some emulators? (NES, SNES, etc.)
I configured wiiflow years ago (the old one) but I no longer remember much how I did it and I only put one plugin per emulator, and since it was to be used on a 720p tv, I tried to use retroarch cores to add some overlays that I made and i stopped using the standalone emulators like snes gx, genplusgx, etc (except msx, n64 and some more) and mednafen.

There are no better emulators, it's only a matter if personal preference. For me they're all equally good, as long as the games are running perfectly.

It's a bit like Tetsuo said above, there are multiple emulators all with different feature sets, compatibility issues, and performance. From there, it all comes down to personal preference. You have the freedom of choice.

Tetsuo has done a great job with this pack only including the plugins for emulators that work well. He's trimmed the fat and removed old, outdated plugins, or ones that are just not working well for any given system.

Just to give to everyone the opportunity to choose their favourite emu. They're all awesome

Not everyone is familiar with every emulator.

I also know bios files can't be shared, but at least a text table could be present pointing which bios may be needed and their required names. For all emulators.

Also, there is this v4.9.0 version here which appears to be newer...
The first one is GX, the second one is RX, a fork of GX by niuus. There's a dedicated thread for that.
Snes9xrx_fledge-mod is a mod of Snes9xRX with the Exit Menu similar to the GX version (originally, in RX you had to press Home, then Back to Main, then Exit, now you just press Home and then Exit). If he ever mods the latest version I will include it.

I understand your point, but I won't do that sorry. There are only minor differences, really. It's faster for you to just play with them a little and decide for yourself which one is the best, than for me to write a document which covers a TON of plugins. I already went crazy to make sure that everything was working and stable, and believe me, it was a titanic work already. You can find that kind of info in the Readme.txt files, the wiibrew pages, this thread, these boards.
But that's just me, everyone is free to contribute and write it. I'll be happy to include it in the pack.

In my case, it was sorta trial and error and through time I figured it out which one fits for my purposes.

Thats the only and the proper way!

One thing, the ogg files in the plugins folders have different names than the text files, they should not sound (I am selecting only the plugins that I am going to use and in passing I check and correct the names and addresses)

Welp. After copying over everything over, deleting out my old plugins folder and copying the new one over -- nothing seems to be working. I made sure I went into my source_menu .ini files in the Rhapsodii Shima folders and changed the corresponding magic numbers to where I switches over to the HexaecoRA plugins.

Every time I select a game, it hits me with the WiiFlow logo and boots me right back to the menu.

OR in the case of Sega Genesis, it says "No games found inusb1:/roms/Genesis" (They're in there...)
Or Virtual Boy just says "no plugins Selected"

Of note, the ones still pointing to Wiimednafen still seem to be working.

@xLAKITUx What wiiflow version are you using? Try the latest test build from fledge and they should work. There is a 128 plugins limit in wf 5.4.6, and the pack exceeds this number. The latest build removes this limitation.

Updated the WFL DOL to the latest beta version. Sadly - Did not work. Same issue. I went to load an NES ROM. Black screen. Blue WiiFlow logo. Booted back to menu.

First, my wiiflow_lite.ini file found in SD://apps/Wiiflow
I have a mixed WFL architecture but source_menu, plugins, plugins_data are all set to usb1

If we take NES for an example, I'm trying to use fceumm_RA-HEXAECO (Found at USB1://wiiflow/plugins/NES/fceumm_RA-HEXAECO.ini) which essentially points to USB1://wiiflow/plugins/RA-HEXAECO/fceumm.dol

The magic number in the "consoles.ini" matches the one in the fceumm_RA-HEXAECO.ini so what gives?

Another thing I could see as being an issue lies in the nes.cfg file found in USB1://ROMS/0_HEXAECO_cfg which has many arguments referencing directories in SD that otherwise I have on USB?

After you setup your source menu did select each source and do reload cache. Or better yet delete your wiiflow/cache/lists folder.

Edit. Since you have the latest beta wfl dol just go to the source menu. Pick a tier. And press home button on controller to open the source menu options menu. Here you can link buttons to plugins and set plugin rom paths.
