Quarantine has been going on for a while now, some people are sick of it, others don't care.

What keeps your spirits up even after being in quarantine for a while?

Binge-watching anime and writing. It's also quite nice that my boyfriend is stuck at home too and doesn't have to work, so it's been kind of fun just talking all day and playing games. Sort of like being on paid summer vacation, but as an adult.

I’ve been dealing with ‘the new normal’ since the start of June, i.e. I’m back at work.

Hardest part has been dealing with our inept computer/processing systems at work being made to work with the ‘new normal’ (e.g. social distancing, usual moronic customers who don’t know what they’ve bought, etc.), combined with ‘WTF’ decisions from corporate (e.g. putting out displays for certain products which ****s things up), leading to what I’ve just decided to call the ‘new SNAFU’.

On the plus side, it’s nice to go from 100% base pay during semi-furlough to the usual 2.5x base pay I’d normally get from OT and it’s nice to be able to see my parents again.

Food, water, sleep.

Basically business as usual for me other than my rounds of various book shops, car boot sales and the like have been stopped but it is not like I can't find things to pass the time (not to mention the years of the previous mean I have something of a backlog, and a few things I can stand to re watch/play/read.
I suppose income took a hit but for most of it I was already planning to be on holiday and I was never planning to retire, buy a house or start a family anyway. Was speaking to someone the other week and apparently I could have made out like a bandit if I had wanted to (speaking to someone who mainly works with contractors, they all left to take seriously high paying gigs when it kicked off, which left my associate's firm in the lurch, and I can play in that world too) but was not even paying attention to things. Most of my friends got themselves dubbed essential so they carried on happily enough, and those that did not got a nice holiday at enough pay that they are probably coming out ahead when not paying for fuel.
On lack of human contact... have you met people? They are disgusting and I don't enjoy being around them at the best of times.

The pointless mask lark (they don't protect me, or at least I am not wearing any that protect me -- that stuff is expensive and I would rather save it for grinding dust type jobs, and the way most people fail at wearing them, something that came as no surprise to me, mean not a lot of what minute good might be done will be done) is annoying but I mainly just go around pretending I am about to rob the place so that is amusing.

Find sh*t to do, burning time however I can. Quarantine gave me too much time leaving me bored as f*ck, nothing to do.

Buying things is something I've been doing a lot, I'm thinking about getting a Vita.

There is not much to do, I've done practically everything I've wanted to do in spare time and now I'm struggling to find new things to do.

videogames and watching those anime or series that I've been planning to watch even before the pandemic began but didn't have the time. Also hobbies and pets.
