So, this is my first post here and I'm really new to this scene. For the past few days I got really interested in cfw and console hacking, especially for the 3ds since it has so many good games. The thing is, I'm gonna sell my ps4 to trade for either an O2DS or a N3DS and some other stuff, but I'm afraid of buying the new 3ds as its more expensive and it's my first time hacking a console ever, so, can some of you tell me if seedminer is the safest and easiest method for me to use? I also have a r4 card if I decide to use the flashcart method.

Thank you for your confirmation, and I've been reading that guide non-stop just trying to do everything perfectly. So I should go for the new 3ds right?
Yep,there is no need to be worried, nowadays the CFW methods are safer than 4-5 years ago
And all methods work on any models,so there will be no difference

It doesnt matter what version of the 3ds you have any model works same
Yeah I know that, I was just worried about spending +50€ and possibly brick it.

Okay thank you for your clarification, I'm much less worried now.

In an hypothetical situation,if you brick, you can unbrick with the flashcard method, but it's like 0% of chance if you follow the guide(just don't follow youtube guides)

theres basically 0 chance of a brick with the 3ds modding scene at this point
Yeah, I browse this forum sometimes and most cases of "bricks" are of people, let's, say, for example, deleting files they shouldn't, or trying to uninstall cfw without proper knowledge. I'll just stick to playing games

Yeah I'll follow that guide (can't post links yet) and won't mess with things that I don't understand. Thank you all for the quick and helpful responses, even if my questions were kinda dumb.

I say, go for the new 3DS, you can unlock full clock speed and L2 cache on all games, which makes a pretty big difference on a lot of games!

Very helpful post... I would ask you to play Rayman and Luigi's Mansion (both) and you see a lot of improvement. Especially Rayman, that game was unplayable, now it is a great game to play.
So your definition of a lot of games ultimately dwindles down to 2 games?

Haha, trying to seek it where you can find it. Just gave two very apparent examples, there are more. Just not in the mood noting them all for the sake of nay sayers
I never saw a difference because there is nothing. Neither in luigis mansion nor in rayman. Or every other 3ds game...

I would say there are some differences in some games but Rayman I see zero difference with it on my original 3ds and new 3ds. And it runs perfectly fine on the original 3ds.

@SylverReZ, I also heard one of the Prince of Persia games was so unfinished that it required the "24/7 online" drm so a puzzle could be done and the game could be finished. And that when the Ubisoft servers were closed the (cracked) game was impossible to finish or something like that
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, That's extra scummy. Ubisoft nowadays ship out incomplete games like Skull and Bones which was being worked on for nearly a decade now.

I like that games can be fixed after the fact, hate that it's being abused via beta tests... And DLC... I was a 7800 owner back in the day and loved Impossible Mission, turns out I couldn't beat it because it was actually impossible lol

I never knew about it at the time but a fixed version was available but you had to mail in your broken copy lol

So that version is semi rare
