Would I get banned if I do so? How would I go about it (guide link)? What exactly does wii u homebrew offer? Perhaps unrelated but my vWii is already homebrewed.
Is there a list of benefits or something like that? There is no reason not to use homebrew/CFW on your Wii U if any of the benefits interest you. As long as you're not cheating online, you're highly unlikely to be banned.
The ability to play game backups, the ability to edit and backup saves, etc.Is there a list of benefits or something like that?
Any mods or stuff like that? Maybe emulation? The ability to play game backups, the ability to edit and backup saves, etc.
You can do both of these, yes.Any mods or stuff like that? Maybe emulation?
Where should I start from then? Is there a guide of some sort? You can do both of these, yes.

Are you sure about that guide? I don't want to brick my system. Is it even possible to brick my system?https://wiiu.hacks.guide/
It's recommend you update to the latest system version beforehand. You will either need to use the internet browser for all homebrew/CFW, or you will need to buy a legitimate DS game for Haxchi/CBHC.
Ok, thats a relief. I imagine guides for other things like emulators and rverse are on gbatemp then?that guide is legit, read it twice then start from the beginning.
don't skip anytthing, don't do something it doesn't mention and you're good to go
It's highly unlikely you will brick the Wii U, particularly if you don't use CBHC.Are you sure about that guide? I don't want to brick my system. Is it even possible to brick my system?
What's CBHC?It's highly unlikely you will brick the Wii U, particularly if you don't use CBHC.
Coolboot Haxchi. If you have Haxchi, you can install CBHC so it autoboots Haxchi when you coldboot the system. The problem is if you format the system or delete the DS title while CBHC is installed, the system is bricked. What's CBHC?

Sorry for my inexperience
Is 3ds emulation being worked on? It could technically work cause of the gamepad.@pleasehelpme2 In case you need more incentive to mod your Wii U, you can play almost every single Nintendo game, excluding 3ds and Switch games, digitally on the Wii U. That includes NES, SNES, N64, GameCube, Wii, Wii U, GameBoy, GBA, DS, and more non-Nintendo games through emulators and such. Another cool piece of homebrew you can look into is HID to VPAD (look it up), which lets you use GameCube controllers and others to act as Wii U pro controllers. As others have said, the process is perfectly safe if you make sure to read and follow the instructions.
So don't use Coolboot haxchi? Is there a difference between haxchi and the coolboot one, or is the coolboot one the extended name?Coolboot Haxchi. Nah, the Wii U isn't powerful enough I think, Citra (3ds emulator) is being worked on for the Switch though if you have that.Is 3ds emulation being worked on? It could technically work cause of the gamepad.
And you can play a few other Nintendo systems like Virtual Boy and Game and Watch. And indeed the first 2 Mario Kart arcade games can be played using Nintendont. Oh and the arcade only F-Zero AX also works perfectly using Nintendont.@pleasehelpme2 In case you need more incentive to mod your Wii U, you can play almost every single Nintendo game, excluding 3ds and Switch games, digitally on the Wii U.
