The modchip is not discontinued as far as I'm aware.[/QUOTE]

When I go to the TX website and check the links for the modchip it takes me to a page that doesn't exist anymore

what are ways you can specifically be banned from the eshop? I have already hacked my switch and I don't want to lose access to the eshop.

I am currently using SXOS EmuNand with Incognito + SX Stealth Mode. Is it safe to use the OFW option with the same sd card? Or should I use another 'clean' sd card to switch between the two.

Would I be able to still use AutoRCM in the process?

Any use of CFW and homebrew can result in a ban. eShop bans, when they happen, usually happen when piracy is involved.

If you don't want to get banned, you should keep your sysNAND clean and use a dirty emuNAND for all hacks.

It is safe to use the same SD card with a clean sysNAND, and it is safe to use AutoRCM.

would it still be a clean sysNAND if I use SXOS payload to access it? I thought it was considered a CFW
To a purist, no, it wouldn't be clean anymore. However, if you didn't install or play any pirated games, and especially if you didn't use any homebrew, then the sysNAND might be relatively clean.

Hey !

So I think my question is similar, I followed the tutorial from switch.homebrew.guide.
If I start my sysnand from hekate, I will be taken to the stock sysnand, right ? There, I can update my console, access the eshop, turn on wifi without fearing a ban, or worst, a brick ?

I'm like 95% sure that this is a dumb question, but I read so many threads about bricked switches, that I'd prefer if someone more knowledgeable than me could confirm that ^_^'

This is correct if you manually created an emuNAND.

I didn't create an emunand.
I have AutoRCM enabled to avoid damaging my switch with a jig, I have an sd card set-up with Ubuntu, and another with only my Sysnand, as I am not interested in running homebrew right now...

So, do I need to disable AutoRCM and start my switch up normally, or can I do it through Hekate if I want to update ?

If you haven't run any CFW/homebrew yet, then your sysNAND is probably still clean, and you can boot stock sysNAND using Hekate.

Hello,
I wanted to know, how can I switch from Kosmos to Atmospehre. Is it just coping the atmosphere files on the sd-card and override the kosmos files? Or do I have to delete some files before? I want to switch completly to atmosphere, so if there is a save way to get rid of kosmos but keep all my configs/homebrew-apps etc, that would be very nice :-)
Why? You can just continue using SDSetup.

When I go to the TX website and check the links for the modchip it takes me to a page that doesn't exist anymore
You didn't quote my earlier response correctly. Anyway, I've seen other sites still selling it. TX may have had to change their resellers due to Nintendo's lawsuits.

So, I guess its time to update my firmware on my switch... I haven't done this yet with CFW installed so I wanted to check and see if anyone has any insight they might share.

I am on OFW v9.2.0 and using whatever version of Atmosphere that came with the "Homebrew SD Setup" zip package that the Ultimate Noob Guide recommended, most likely v0.10 or something.

I use the Hekate payload and have ChoiDujour NX installed but no idea where to get the new firmware or how to use it.

I have an EnuNand set up, if that makes any difference.

Eh, so...

1) When updating Atmosphere, is it safe to just overwrite the old installation on the SD with the new files or do I need to try to figure out which files were associated with the old version and remove them first?

2) Do I need to update Hekate?

3) How do I find the new firmware that I need to use with ChoiDejour NX and is there a guide anywhere on how to use that app to update the firmware? SCRATCH this one, I found the ChoiDujour page here in the forums.

4) Is there anything I might be missing? Oh yeah, is it safe to update to the latest OFW yet?

Edit:

5) I have AutoRCM setup, should I turn that off before doing any of this?

6) I will need to update my sig patches I assume and in the past the Atmosphere Hekate patches didn't work all that great for me so I ended up using the "Kosmos_patches_03_02_2020_bootconfig" patches and I found this forum thread here:

https://gbatemp.net/threads/latest-fs-and-acid-patches-for-kosmos.562915/

Are these the correct replacement patches that I need? o.O

Hi, just a quick question. Im a total noob here when it comes to cfw specially in updating my fw and cfw. Current fw: 9.1.0 using atmosphere 0.10.2|S. I would like to know how can I update through ChoiDujourNx to the latest fw and cfw. Ive found youtube videos and tutorials on the forum but I would like to be super sure before i update. And will there be any difference if i update to the latest fw and cfw?

  1. I recommend wiping the SD card then placing the new files. Make sure you backup the Nintendo folder, any homebrew applications in the /switch folder, and game mods in the /contents folder
  2. If you are going to continue using Hekate, it would be prudent to update it as well
  3. There are several legal and illegal methods of obtaining the firmware
  4. I personally don't recommend updating to the latest firmware yet as not all homebrew and tools support the latest firmware
  5. If you are going to be updating via ChoiDujourNX and wish to not burn fuses, then it doesn't make a difference as ChoiDujourNX will either enable or disable AutoRCM when you install the firmware
  6. Those are the correct patches although if you check the appropriate box on SDSetup, you can download the patches pre-packaged
Is there a way sync save data from sys to emu and vise versa?
Use a save manager such as Checkpoint, EdiZon, or JKSV.

All you do is obtain the firmware files from a variety of methods, place them on your SD card, and navigate to those files via ChoiDujourNX. Certain homebrew applications may not work once you update your firmware to the latest which is why it is not always recommended to update to the latest firmware.

Is JITS an app store and can you download Mario 64 ports with it?
JITS is a custom DZ config. If they host the builds of the port, then you can download them via their build of DZ.

Hi.
My friend gave old switch and I want to upgrade cfw version.
I'm noob in swtch cfw and I have some questions.

1.My cfw version is .6.1.0 reiNX. can I jump to latest version of cfw in one time?
or should I upgrade serveral times to reach latest version?

2. Hekete? should I need this hombrew?

In fact, I don't know even it was installed in my switch. At least, i can't see it in my hombrew loader app.

how can I check hekete installed ? and how can I load it?

3. People says, you should turn off autoRCM when updating cfw.

but I don't know my autoRCM is off..

When I boot my switch, it boots normal firmware(not cfw) when I don't inject payload. Is this says my autoRCM is off?

4. I will follow this offical guide to update.

https://reinx.guide/guide/post-installation

My switch already has reinx cfw. It means I just follow these two steps only?

Manually Updating ReiNX->Updating / Downgrading Firmware

sorry for my messy question.

  1. This is a silly question. Do normal firmware updates upgrade you multiple firmware versions or just the latest?
  2. Hekate is not really a homebrew application nor can it ever be installed. Hekate is an RCM payload that has many functions including the ability to boot CFW
  3. I don't know where you heard such things but that is not true. You can also check if AutoRCM is enabled or not in Hekate
  4. Be aware that CFW is never installed on the Switch but yes you can follow those steps for updating your firmware and CFW
