You should check each plugin.ini file, there is a "coverfolder" line that should tell you what directory it is looking for.

However, if I had to guess I would say that your problem is with the filename, the covers need to include the game file extension.

So NES games should be "gamename.nes.png" for example

yup. That’s definitely it. There’s no way they are like that. Where the heck is this documented??

@fledge68 (the guy who maintains WFL) has link to the wiiflowiki in his signature, maybe you would like to visit it if you want to learn how everything works

Understood - I’m very familiar with fledge and the Wiiflowwiki - I used it extensively when I first rolled out Wiiflow transitioning from CFG. I just feel like this Rhapsodii theme with Wiimpathy is throwing me for a loop. I had things kinda perfect and now some stuff is broken. Just gonna have to dig.

I recently upgraded my Wiiflow to the latest version and installed this version of Rhapsodii. It looks wonderful, but I'm not seeing my box covers anymore? They show up for the Wii games, but not for any of the emulator ROMS.

For example, for the NES -- roms are in USB1://fceugx/roms and covers are in USB1://wiiflow/boxcovers/fceugx

Very confused as to what is pointing to which emulator.

Image files are PNG. I'm confused and don't know which way is up or what is pointing to the USB or SD. Not sure what .INI files I should be looking at. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

If you were using a previous version without my theme, your source_menu.ini was read from wiiflow/source_menu/
Switching to my theme, Wiiflow will ignore it and will look for it in wiiflow/source_menu/Rhapsodii Shima/
From the included documentation:
You may need to check that your plugin .ini's (found in wiiflow/plugins) are using the same magic numbers you see in the .ini files found in wiiflow/source_menu/Rhapsodii Shima/ (arcades.ini, consoles.ini etc...)
After you do that, you may need to click the Reload cache button in the home menu.
Also in your plugin .ini's, your paths should be like this
romdir=fceugx/roms
To tell Wiiflow that they are on USB1 you also need
rompartition=1

Edit:
for covers paths you only need
coverFolder=fceugx (path is relative to wiiflow/boxcovers/)

and for .dol's
dolfile=fceugx.dol (path is relative to wiiflow/plugins/)

Thank you so much. This should be everything I need to go on. Great work with the theme and everything btw - It looks gorgeous.

Thank you :)

Also, I know this isn't the BEST place to ask this. I'm doing a cross-comparison of your magic numbers vs. the ones I was using (About 2 years ago) - There are definitely a few differences. For example, you are favoring FCEUMM over NEStopia and I was using mGBA over vGBX.

Is there an up-to-date list of preferred emulators organized by console? I know that a lot of it comes down to personal preference, but there are cases where breakthroughs in coding can give one emulator a leg up on the others w/ performance.

Again - Sorry, I know this isn't the best place to ask this - but if anyone could point me in the right direction - I'd really appreciate it!

Yes, as you said it's all a matter of personal preference. Personally, I'm now abandoning retroarch whenever I can, except for arcade games, in favour of the gx emulators.
Also mgba is the best option for gba.

Mgba is for me the best experience, and additionally using Bios for each system.

Marvellous!

Also, I'm experiencing a minor graphical issue. The source menu graphics only appear when Smallbox art is disabled. When I go to settings (Page 12 --> Source Menu Settings) and put "Sourceflow Smallbox" to "On", it appears to reload cache, but I have blank graphics across the board.

UPDATE - Ignore this. It seemed to fix by switching back and forth from default theme to Rhapsodii. Looks good now!

@Tetsuo Shima Actually - Now this is bizarre. It seems to only display the plugins in source menu of the first three or four I open. After that it's blank.

So recreating this -->
1) I switch to default theme, then back to Rhapsodii.
2) Back out to Source Menu (It displays that it is converting covers for the source menu icons)
3) I click Wii Menu. It loads the appropriate icons.
4) I click Handhelds and Retro consoles. Same result.
5) NOW, I select Arcade and Retro Computers... it goes through the motions of "Converting covers" but when it loads that screen, I am getting the default Wii box with the question mark.

Very confused atm.

Also, I'm getting a decent amount of freezing when reloading cache. For instance, I selected Game Boy Advance from the source menu and without any prompting, it just sent me to the screen where it hangs on "Converting cover 1 of 1015" and makes no progress.

That seems the cache bug that was affecting my theme before optimization.
Two things to check:
Are you using wiiflow 5.4.4 or above?
Are you using Rhapsodii Shima 5.4 v1.3?

Yeah I actually just upgraded to WiiFlow 5.4.6. May try to downgrade.

EDIT - And what's weird is, I'm now just seeing black squares. The base source menu wheel displays properly, but any sub menu just displays black boxes.

Wiiflow 5.4.6 is ok.
But don't use the latest lib version. I have some troubles with that.

I THINK I am finally good.

1) I was using the latest lib version. Downgraded to regular 5.4.6.
2) I had my cache pointing to the SD (which only has 2GB of storage), changed it to USB. I'm sure it was just running out of space.

It can be that point 2 is the issue.

Hello, what's up?

First thank you for your help. You are a great person and you know why I say it.

I'm around here ... I'm still involved with this issue.

In between I got a wiiu and lke I have put the complete retroarch (the one that occupies 128gb) and it's great, suddenly I have a lot of sets of roms and covers to put them in the wii.

Because the wiiu is great ... but you know ... I have grown fond of the wii, it is small, simple, it does not need additional steps to start wiiflow or strange sploits.

I don't know why I like it more. I have also grown fond of wiiflow and it is already personal. I can put the Gamecube controls directly and punch a tube monitor ... for me it is ideal.

For now, some sets like the one from n64 or the one from NES have them pretty well.

I also managed to run scumm and put the covers of some of my favorite games. (Wonderful)

Yesterday I discovered how to touch the buttons and I will leave only some consoles, the rest (Atari ... etc) not.

But I still have doubts, for example, instead of using boxcovers, using only covers (they are easier to get in fullsets like in GameGear), how to choose the orientation, how to adjust the displacement and the size of the snapshots to make them bigger ?

Thank you so much

you're right to remove the unused buttons from source menu. Less images in memory for Wiiflow:)
So, if I understand it correctly, you want to use 2d flat covers and to adjust them in size and position.
You need to go to Wiiflow Settings -> Adjust coverflow, click on the top-left number until you reach the desired coverflow. Then change Cover Scale, Cover Posittion and Cover Rotation. Don't forget to save.

First off, this is the best looking theme I've seen across multiple systems. Thank you.

Second, after copying wiiflow lite 5.4.6 (or 5.4.4) over to my sd and then overwriting it with Rhapsodii Shima and following the change of settings instructions detailed at the beginning of this post, I still end up with a weird text offset in my source menu. The titles all appear slightly too far to the right at the startup screen (i.e. retro consoles overlaps the little purple bubble on the right hand side) Anyone else have this issue? What file might I edit to correct it? Everything else seems to be just fine, I just have this one oddball glitch.

I see in my crystal ball that you're coming from an installation of the Danimalzpwn3 pack :p1ng:
I've already seen that kind of displacement from a youtube guy who installed that modded version of Rhapsodii Shima and then overwrited it with the original theme.

The file that controls the titles position and buttons shapes is in wiiflow/themes_lite/coverflows/Rhapsodii Shima.ini
It's very strange that you still see the old coverflow if you've overwrited that file with mine.
Are you sure you overwrited all files and folders? Are you using RS v1.3?
If you're not sure, I would try to start from scratch.. you may be missing the optimized images too.
Do a backup of your .ini files inside the wiiflow/source_menu/Rhapsodii Shima folder (only if you've ever edited the source menu buttons)
- remove:
wiiflow/backgrounds/Rhapsodii Shima/
wiiflow/source_menu/Rhapsodii Shima/
wiiflow/themes_lite/Rhapsodii Shima/
- additionally remove:
wiiflow/themes_lite/coverflows/Rhapsodii Shima.ini
wiiflow/themes_lite/Rhapsodii Shima.ini

Download Rhapsodii Shima 5.4 v1.3 and extract the wiiflow folder in the root. Make sure you copy all files and folders
If needed, replace your old source menu .ini files (not the images)
This should fix your issue and also makes sure that you won't miss any other important file.
