simple you never know if said items on the account were hacked (the account itself) or if stolen cards were used to make purchases fraudulently
Someone may had already stated this. Theres the high chances of the original owner stealing the account back through Sony customer services. Playing victim the account got hacked if he ever decided to change his mind. Too much risks involved as others mentioned.

problem is they don't give a shit the only "care" (using that term loosely) about their home turf (Japan) but they are so brain dead as a consumer base Sony could piss in their mouth call it lemonade and they'll drink it
