Okay so I've just heard about the new nKit format for Wii / gamecube ISO's.. I was even more impressed when I saw that the format is even playable with Dolphin!

So you got a better compressed Wii/GC game AND its read by Dolphin?

As stated here: https://gbatemp.net/download/nkit.36157/

I wanted to test it out myself.. Alas... After converting:

Wii Iso to nkit
Wii Iso to nkit.iso
Wii Iso to nkit.gcz

I got the exact same result in Dolphin.. A black screen and the application freezes.

Does anyone have an idea why this happens?

If you are on Windows you can use .wbfs format and compress the file using NTFS compression.
