3DS Bros: If you're trying to play a game that doesn't work yet RetroArch just fixed gpSP. (Only took four years.)

Also, set frame delay to 1 to get rid of the tearing at the top of the screen.

Sorry ir somebody asked this before.
It is possible to transfer a save to a original cart? Using for example the ds savefile program for gba enabled ds's?
Thanks!

It is completely possible, just tested myself with all my original carts. I recommend you to use GBA Backup Tool homebrew for the DS, but a flashcard is needed.

Would've been even easier if there were a homebrew program that could dump it and send it to a pc over ftp, since then you could send it to a DS without a flashcard just using the download play feature so either a cfw ds or wii(u), which I realize writing this is sort of an even larger barrier...

Mmm... AFAIK there is a build of GBA Backup tool that works exactly like this, but I don't remember where you could find it, or if it even existed on the first place, I have very vague memories from the DS scene on 2006-2008..

That doesn't exist from what I can find, and if it did, it has most likely been lost to time. NDS Backup Tool had a wireless version, but not GBA Backup.
(If I'm wrong, then feel free to correct me)

New update on dsp audio. After some more dsp research I improved the fetching of sample data. It should be more stable now (fewer games have crackling). Minish Cap for example works well now. This is a dsi build again.
Nice! I will test the games with sound issues and update this post.:)

Batman - Rise of Sin Tsu - minor sounds are missing during the map screen. minor audio stutter during the first level.
Doom - crashes after the titlescreen.
F-Zero Maximum Velocity - the guitar sample sounds quiet compared to other sounds.
Final Fantasy 1 & 2 - Dawn of Souls - FF1: game crashes after the lich battle. this is a known issue.
Final Fantasy 4 Advance - game freezes after cecil passes through the devil´s road. this is a known issue.
Final Fantasy 6 Advance - menu cursor sound has a little noise.
Final Fantasy Tactics Advance - minor crackling noise during the snowball tutorial battle.
Final Fight One - the sound is a bit off. difficult to describe.
Fire Emblem - the sound is a bit off. difficult to describe. minor crackling noise.
Godzilla Domination - minor fuzzy noise.
GT Racers - minor fuzzy noise during the titlescreen.
Hikaru no Go 2 - minor crackling noise.
Invincible Iron Man - many gfx glitches, minor sounds are missing
Iridion 3D - minor fuzzy noise. game crashes before you can start the first level.
Iridion 2 - minor audio crackling. crashes after the first boss is defeated. this is a known issue. at least you can defeat the boss now.
Mega Man Zero 1-3 - minor audio crackling. most notable during intro and cutscene.
Pokemon Fire Red & Leaf Green - the sound is a bit off. difficult to describe.
Summon Night - Swordcraft Story 2 - crackling sound during the intro.
Summon Night - Swordcraft Story 3 - minor crackling sound during the titlescreen.
Sword of Mana - no sound yet. game crashes after you go into the gbarunner2 menu.
Tactics Ogre - The Knight of Lodis - game crashes after the atlus logo. probably memory related.
Trickstar - minor noise, some sound fx are missing.
Wario Land 4 - minor fuzzy noise.

@Gericom

You are an absolute technical wizard. Once you implement DSP and Sleep Mode, this will be the most compelling solution for GBA on the 3DS. I marvel at your work.

Thanks for your great work @Gericom.

Using the lastest dsp version:

- WarioWare Inc Mega Microgames, has some buzzing noise in the N logo, when loading a new level and on game over. But the previous dsp version had buzzing between mini games loading also, so definitely is a lot better.

- Metal slug advance still has cracking on sfx, but is better.

- Pokémon Emerald, has some buzzing noise while game is saving, but seems to be fine overall.

Tested various games, and the Noise Channel sometimes sounds weird, like an screeching or metallic sound, don't know how to explain it.

Anyway, great work as always :D, it amazes me the level of knowledge you have about this, it takes time and great effort to dominate such complicated devices, congrats!

Which games did you test that you found this in? WarioWare Twisted is known to have a similar problem in the title screen.

This is what I have so far:
As @Dodain47 has pointed out later this build does seem a bit less stable since it did crash on me several times breaking sound from one game over to the next game, forcing me to restart the app.

007 James bond Everything or Nothing - Crackling/Popping in title screen, General fuzzy audio but overall good. No more slowdown! (so far in first level)
Animal Yokochou - Doki Doki Kyushutsu Daisakusen! no Maki - According to wiki had bad audio, now it has very good audio. Single popping sound can heard when loading new screen.
Azumanga Daiou Advance - Still slowdown, audio stutter as a consequence, many gfx glitches.
Batman Rise of Sin Tsu - No audio stutter first level. Couldn't replicate this with previous build either? @Dodain47
Beyblade G Rev - Audio will play with a lot of crackling and very low quality to begin with and then sometimes it completely breaks into pure screeching noise.
Blackthorne - All sound effects present. Music plays well. Single popping sound when starting new game. Didn't see any gfx glitches anymore.
Bomberman Tournament - Less crackling sound in town.
Dragon Quest Monsters Caravan Hearts - Short crackling noise when starting overture intro music, entering battle and town.
F-Zero - Guitar sample was reported as quiet in previous build. Checked sound up against game running on agb_firm and couldn't find huge differences in mixing with guitar sample in main menu and bianca city. Some occasional popping when loading new screen like going to results list after a round etc.
Final Fantasy VI - Health and safety screen only showed yellow triangle - Cursor sound in language select and in status screen is slightly off.
Final Fantasy Tactics - Played during snowball tutorial, Sound plays perfectly. Glitched text gfx in intro. Status screen in combat scrolls a bit glitchy when opening and closing.
Glory Days - Slowdown -> Regular 2 seconds of halting of game followed by 2 normal seconds together with repeating long beeping sound.
Fire Emblem - Regular crackling in start menu, map screen and battle screen.
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban - No more of the heavy slowdown according to the wiki. Slight Popping and slightly fuzzy sound. Single gfx glitch when exiting battle with book.
Hikaru no Go 2 - Still crackling noise. Fifo channel broke during new game conversation and became a regular long beeping. Only gb channel kept playing. Other games booted subsequently would not play audio correctly, not even the bios screen.
Iridion II - Single audio pops during loading of new screens. Gbarunner2 crashed right when first boss began in story mode. Ingame menu did not work anymore.
FireRed - Audio was reported as being off on previous build - PSG Channel 1 is a bit screechy or high pitched in pallet town (start town), almost like an accompanying high pitched voice following the main one. Compared it to agb_firm in n3ds, which interestingly at times has popping that gbarunner2 does not have.
Pokemon Ruby - Still regular crackling sound in Old Dale Town. Can't seem to find it in nearby areas.
Power Rangers - Wild Force Boss image in intro cut scene after new game does not rotate but fades in. Not sure which is the correct effect...
Shaman King - Popping sound when loading new screen from language select, loading into title screen, new game screen etc. Popping sound when scrolling through dialogue.
Spyro Fusion - Very stuttery audio. Didn't see anymore gfx glitches as reported by wiki.
Street Racing Syndicate - Reported on wiki as: Heavy gfx glitches and slowdown. - Found now to have: Graphics glitches. No sound. Freezes when creating or loading profile. Could not enter a race.
Summon Night 2 Intro doesn't have crackling sounds anymore. Very rarely has any popping during gameplay. Crashed right before entering first battle with rabbit as Edgar.
The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy - Very crackly audio. Happens in mgba too and all recordings on youtube of the game. Agb_firm plays it cleanly of course.
Warioland 4 - Can't find crackling or fuzzy sound, but might have to check game more in depth comparing with real system.
Yu-Gi-Oh! - Worldwide Edition - Stairway to the Destined Duel - Audio stays the same after entering ingame menu which before was reported as breaking the audio. Slight popping sound when loading new screen.

I'm gonna have to transfer some backups of more games known to have sound issues, specifically with crackling sound, that I can test.
