I know download play hasn't worked because of the boot thing, but is the issue currently being worked on, or any planning?

On a ds flashcart then u can use single card download play

Indeed. Twilight Menu++ or DS injected fails to Download Play but using your backup games from things like a R 4 works perfectly.
