Hi guys,

I have hacked 5.05 PS4 console. I would like to format my system but I don't want to lose my save files.
The reason to do this is because I fell I have some unnecessary things filling the storage. I tried to install some updates which got me erros because they are not merged with the FPKG; what I know is those files are still in my HD. Also, would like to improve the system performance as well due I never have done this since I got the PS4.

  • Can I just format it going to Setting; Initialization; Initialize PS4 and choose the "Quick"?
  • If I copy my save files to a flash drive before I format they will still work when I restore them?
  • Will I still be able to hack my console? It won't force me to update?

Thanks

Activate the console, back up saves to usb, restore the console, restore the saves.

When you say to activate the console, you say "activate as primary console"?

Also, I won't be able to log in in my account because the PS4 won't be updated. My save games will still work even if I am not logged?

Thanks for the useful information!

My PS4 is already activated as primary console with a PSN account.

So I my only steps are:

Backup the saves;
Restore PS4;
Reactivate using PS4OfflineAccountActivator
Restore the saves

Can you confirm?

Thanks

I'd use @Leeful 's script to get your account id. you'll need that for the activator.

scratch that. you should already have it. I was thinking of using a new account. lol

I am kinda confused. I have my account already activated if I am not wrong. I used to use online things (playing, download games...) before hack the console, so I have a PSN ID and also linked to faceboook. What actually is necessary to keep my save games and my hax after I format my console?

I'm not entirely sure. I've never done it. however, when you export your saves, they should be in a folder named after the account id iirc, so do that beforehand or I think you'll have to use that script. apparently a fake id can be used (I think leeful tested this), but it sounds like you could be banned if we can ever sign in to psn and that is found on your system.

That's bad! So maybe is better to format, lose the save files and start all again. I don't want to be banned. I maybe update the console in the future to enjoy more recent content if we don't get a newer exploit.

if you have the correct id, it would probably be okay, but I don't think anyone is going to know for sure. I plan to activate just so I can copy saves to usb. the current account on my system is banned. of all the saves together, I have about 10 hours total playtime. lol I've already backed up every game, so it wouldn't take much to get everything back. I don't really care about my saves, but I would like to activate. I'm just afraid something might go wrong. I'm wanting to reset the user counter as well, but I don't know if a format will do that like on a nor ps3.

How do you know that your current account is banned? You are probably not online in the PSN with your PS4. I am wondering if I can be banned as well. I am not connected to the PSN because PS4 is not updated. But I have been connected to the internet sometimes.

you can log in to sony's official site with the email to that account. if it's banned, it won't let you log in. I was using the same account on the vita as well. the vita is not banned. they can't ban you on another system for what you did previously aside from the account itself.

Copy your saves to USB and then copy them to your PC so you have a backup there.
Use the backup/restore option in system settings to backup your profile saves and settings.
Initialise your PS4.
Restore the backup you made from system settings.
Your PS4 will now be clean and your original profile and saves and whatever system settings you have will be restored.
Done.:)

You might not need the saves on your PC but its best to have a backup there just in case.

It seems I am not banned so far. I logged to Sony's website with no problems. I am curious. Why did you get banned?

Thanks so much Leeful! I didn't know it was possible to backup the profile saves and settings. Now I feel more safe to start my PS4 from 0 :)

Yeah, The official backup/restore app automatically backs up/restores your existing profile and you can choose to also backup your saves, system settings, screenshots and even your installed games.
the only thing it does not backup is your trophies but if you wanted to backup your trophies too, you could use my Trophy backup/restore payloads in PS-Phwoar.

A word of warning when you are making your official backup. If you choose to backup any of your games it will only work with fake pkg games. If you have any official PSN downloaded games they will not work when they are restored.

I remember doing this on one of my official PS4's that had legit downloaded games from PSN and they did not work after restoring the backup.

Let us know how you get on.:)

I got banned for having "pirated or unauthorized software" on my ps3. I don't know how I was caught, and I was taking precautions (psn patch).

Hi Guys,

Sorry for the late reply. I only had time to follow the procedures today. I've done all the @Leeful steps and now I am restoring the system setting backups after done a initialization. However, I have 63,3 GB to restore and did not choose to backup any game or app. I've only to chose to backup save games, setting and themes. I felt a little bid weird to get this size of backup. Didn't matter what option I picked, always get me at least 60GB as my backups size.

I thinking the PS4 maybe backup some shit in my HD (like not merged updates or whatever). Maybe after the restoring should I make a system backup again and see if I get a size reduce?

Thanks at all;

EDIT: The 60GB + came because some games were actually restored! That's weird because I am sure I did not choose to backup any game or app;
