I'm honestly thinking about giving them out as gifts. DSi / DSi LL units are cheap on eBay, and SD cards are dirt cheap now too. Who wouldn't like to get a refurbed DSi LL loaded up with games for their b-day / Christmas?

@Robz8 , is it enough to overwrite twilight menu++ when updating or even using the twilight menu updater cia? or will that cause problems? I don't have to delete everything and start over fresh each time, do I? I don't want to lose my settings or artwork.

Yes, it's enough to just overwrite when updating.

I tried vania aria of sorrow and final fantasy 1 and 2 dawn of souls. I'm updating through the cia now, maybe something didn't transfer over.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

I've fixed the dldi error, but gba is still going to a black screen.

I'm trying a clean install by deleting everything. I had quite a number of bootstrap files.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

I found the problem. it doesn't like the gba logo being turned off. it was getting stuck with it set up that way. gba now works.

Hello.:)

Thank you very much for your free Update.:yay:

Everything is working fine on the

New 3DS XL - Reset works in 30 of 30 Cases on a Row.:)
DSi (XL) - Also everthing ok.

Flashcard - unfortunately many Games are no longer working now (for Example New Super Mario) - they stay now on 2 White Screens.
The Reset is not working (maybe that is normal on the Flashcard ?)
Is there Something I have to delete ?

Thank you for your Advises.:)

Robz, you are a freaking savior to this homebrew community. You implemented the things people (including myself) requested and I cannot wait to try this out. *squee*

The update works, and so does soft reset! All hail @Robz8!
Only problem is that soft resetting (and booting in general, at least for Pokemon Black 2) is rather slow. I turned off the improvement settings- anything else I should change for faster booting if possible?
Edit: I'm using a DSi XL. I have literally no idea how this may or may not work on a 3ds-family system, so...

The soft reset does not work on my old 3ds. When I select the mini-games it goes to the 3ds menu. I tried to delete the TW programs from the system and re-download them, but nothing happened ...

I thought PS4/5 and Xbox One emulation would be kind of easy since they basically just a PC
  • ColdBlitz @ ColdBlitz:
    they sorta are a pc
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
They haslve dedicated on board chips that aren't tweaked like x64/x32 afaik

but its a custom os for both of them

    designed for only specific hardware
  • ColdBlitz @ ColdBlitz:
so you have to learn to emulate that specific hardware which isn't as easy as you'd think

It's a locked down Linux distro basically
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think the only custom hardware is to do with the SSD and a security chip

    Probably combined in one chip

They place married security chips onto boards iirc

Didn't see much need for a console, all the advantages have kind of disappeared
  • ColdBlitz @ ColdBlitz:
the ps3 used to support installing linux because the cpu was so powerful

Then the games are $70 and they want to reboot and refresh the same game every year
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
The ps3 was always Linux they just found a way to make it open source

I'm avoiding buying from the big 3 at all atm

At one point PC game pads where poorly supported, loading a game had setup, it was complicated. Now it's almost as easy as a console.
