Just a week after publisher Private Division revealed the release date of The Outer Worlds for the Nintendo Switch, the company has walked back that announcement, and has instead delayed the game. This is due to the Coronavirus outbreak, which has impacted Studio Virtuos, who is working on the port. To compensate for the delay, the publisher has decided to release the game, which was scheduled to be digital-only, on physical cartridges.

We’re delaying the game on Nintendo Switch due to the coronavirus impacting the Virtuos team working on the port, to provide them enough time to finish development. We’ll now be releasing the physical version on cartridge. Once we have a new launch date, we’ll let you know!

Apparently, it's 24. But I'd wager that if something organic got the virus, the lifespan of the thing could go on a few more hours. Unless temperature and other factors are ideal, the virus can't really withstand much time out in the open. Certainly less so in a Switch cartridge.

while not the same strain a older study of coronavirus and SARS variants from 2010 "Effects of Air Temperature and Relative Humidity on Coronavirus Survival on Surfaces"
mentioned tidbits like

so i'll grant you, temperature and surface conditions in the real world probably will mean its going to be closer to 5 days rather than 28 days and who knows this strain could hypothetically have a shorter than average lifespan than similar versions, but i wouldn't just swallow the conservative estimates that china is pumping out.
especially considering much of what we know from them about this has been suspect,
not to mention every major country is still learning about this strain so much of what is being said even by reputable sources are educated guesses/estimates.
