The virus can't survive more than 48 hours without a host, so you can lick suck and muck the cartridges just fine.

Be aware of people, not goods that take days to get here.

Im glad someone said it. I think its even less than 48 hours (its probably a safety measure though)

Apparently, it's 24. But I'd wager that if something organic got the virus, the lifespan of the thing could go on a few more hours. Unless temperature and other factors are ideal, the virus can't really withstand much time out in the open. Certainly less so in a Switch cartridge.

Bat crap, the top organic fertilizer of the past. If it is about crap, you would have probably eaten food grown in bat crap not so long ago anyway.

Bats have been known to host up to 137 different kinds of viruses. ... Bats have been known to carry rabies, Hendra and Marburg viruses, and research has also suggested that bats may be the original hosts of Ebola and Nipah. The Marburg virus and some strains of the Ebola virus can kill up to 90% of humans infected.- when I said crap I ment its viruses also and I was just relating it to Ed sheeran crap lol - so by reading tht thing about bats it's basically telling us to leave the fkers alone

while you may be right i wouldn't chance it.

while not the same strain a older study of coronavirus and SARS variants from 2010 "Effects of Air Temperature and Relative Humidity on Coronavirus Survival on Surfaces"
    mentioned tidbits like
"At 4°C, infectious virus persisted for as long as 28 days, and the lowest level of inactivation occurred at 20% RH. Inactivation was more rapid at 20°C than at 4°C at all humidity levels; the viruses persisted for 5 to 28 days, and the slowest inactivation occurred at low RH. Both viruses were inactivated more rapidly at 40°C than at 20°C."

so i'll grant you, temperature and surface conditions in the real world probably will mean its going to be closer to 5 days rather than 28 days and who knows this strain could hypothetically have a shorter than average lifespan than similar versions, but i wouldn't just swallow the conservative estimates that china is pumping out.
especially considering much of what we know from them about this has been suspect,
not to mention every major country is still learning about this strain so much of what is being said even by reputable sources are educated guesses/estimates.

Chinese for you, that'll eat your pet dog or cat at any given chance. Loads of cats were I used used to live went missing and it was found that the local takeaway had them strung up.

    Aren't 6 and 7 above average, on a scale of 0 to 10?

How old are people whining about the 1-10 scale these days. 5 has been Fail in professional game reviews since before the internet. Think of it more like a school grade, getting half the test right is not acceptable.

Sadly the physical cartridges won't cure the virus. So sad.
